Education The Sixth Grade Way | Reading Comprehension
Unity Consciousness #166

.

It has been said, writers should write as if their audience had a sixth grade education.

This is for the purpose of making it easier for adults to understand because anything beyond the sixth grade level is not easy to comprehend for the average adult.

Acquiescing to a low standard simply because people are more comfortable at that level is a notion to always be rejected.

Truth is, adults who can only comprehend writing at the sixth grade level will have a thought process that keeps their understanding at a sixth grade level. This is good for the status quo.

A sixth grade level of writing is only appropriate for those who are supposed to be in the sixth or lower grade. We can sense sixth graders understand more than adults who prefer reading comprehension to not challenge them beyond the sixth grade. The education system is complicit in this nonsense.
