To say the word cuisine is a French word, is like saying groceries are created by your local market. Yeah, that's where you got it from, but that is not the origin. The current French or first French, didn't even come from current-day France.

This explanation contains enough truth to support the claim that cuisine is a French word in origin and in the sense of the white-skinned French as the beginning of fine dining or good food.

Matterhorn
