And the Highest Of All gave them numbers. For a while they counted along but grew weary when they realized everything must be counted. They began counting less of the Highest Quality and more of their own making. They were so busy counting congratulations and the taken for granted, they forgot to count the One Giver and remained unaware of how close they had been and now were so far away from perfection.

“It has been weeks and I am rested. What should I write now? Reveal to me what you have in mind.”
”Since you asked, consider upheaval and fulfillment.“
“Hmmn, that does sound good.”
[Silence]
“Lord, will people understand it?”
”Will you understand it and do you understand me?”
“Hopefully, a little bit, wait!”
[Silence]
“But I've never done this before.”
“Neither have we. Follow the process listening lays forth.”
“Who am I to know these things?”
“I know you can grow.”
[Silence]

Many things were explained in those moments. We held each other and moved around the universal. Introductions were made without sound, not even the sound of thought. It was renewing. And now I repeat this teaching: The shift from 12 to 21 is near completion. First 9, then 9+1, then 10, then 10+1, next comes 11 and then perfection.

Change Your Mind Sometimes

When an expectation is not met, something has to change. Change the entire expectation, change some variables, change yourself or change your mind.

Sometimes it's necessary to rethink our position and our actions despite how fervently we made them and how long we've held them or been doing them. The perfect example is God. The all-knowing reconsidered his position and his actions then changed his mind more than once.

God wanted to kill all the Hebrews except Moses. Moses beseeched God and God changed his mind and spared the Israelites. (Exodus 32:7-14)

After God told King Hezekiah he was about to die, King Hezekiah prayed and God allowed him to live 15 years longer. (Isaiah 38:1-6)

If God, the infallible, knows it makes good sense to have a change of mind sometimes, we'd better change our mind from time to time as well.

Changing our mind may be the best decision, no matter how long we've been in our jobs, relationships or held onto beliefs. Length of time doesn't necessarily make a decision right. There ain't no shame in anyone's game who's trying to change.

One of the greatest abilities we have is the ability to change our mind. It gives us the opportunity to remake, reorder, reinvent, recreate and reestablish our lives. Changing our mind sometimes changes everything.

I'm Not Holding My Breath

Having no expectations is a sure way to accomplish, have and experience a whole bunch of something yet nothing worthwhile. I try to avoid this truth in every area of my life. Expectations are my baseline for being. They are the standards and goals that give me control over the things I can.

My expectations are the result of internal question and answer sessions. Even with expectations in place, no matter what I do it will always be less than I’m capable of. (And even though Tiger Woods is the best, he could be better.) Imperfections breed inconsistencies. How much more should I have accomplished. How much of the good in me have I wasted being not as good as I should and by doing what, for what?

Though I’m happy for those who achieve their aim, I’m happier for myself because I can glean things for my own dreams. Doing so has helped me realize the only time the accomplishments of others seem like feats is when I am not being brave for myself. I now know the brave live full lives no matter what, so much so that half a brave life is inconceivable to most. What kind of bravery does it take to believe you can fly and then do it? Is it the stuff of titans and superhumans? Not at all, only the imperfect are great; therefore, I must stop holding my breath when others are simply doing their best on purpose and take deep breaths plus giant steps for myself.

I asked myself am I capable, do I have what it takes, can I handle this? How does an imperfect person attain their greatness? I asked many times not realizing this was not about my ability but about doubt and my low expectation of the reservoir within. The answer came calmly as always, “Just know the Spirit is immeasurable. Nothing can stop you because nothing can stop me.” Next, the forever giving nature said, “Let’s work together on this.” After that, silence. And then its final answer exceeded my expectations: “It takes the same amount of bravery to fly as it did for you to breathe your first breath not knowing you could or for how long. Yet, you continue because you must.”
