Definition | Curse Words, Swear Words & Profanity

Cursing All Over Earth

The world is filled with curse words. Millions are in use daily. They range from the currently obvious to those that seem to be opposites – blessings. Cursing, swearing and profaning go far beyond the few words we focus on as filthy, dirty, and indecent.

Expanding Definition Of Curse

Many thoughts, spoken words or actions that create undeserved negative outcomes, intended or not, are curses.

Thoughts, words and actions that should occur but do not, are silent swears.

Many secrets are curses because many secrets exist to protect wrongdoing. Many secrets are millstones to the rising of our greatness.

Many promises not kept, are curses.

Many societal practices and institutions, are curses. Not realizing this, is a curse.

Nearly every lie, is a curse. Courtrooms are legally filled with them.

Not striving to live up to our intended best, is a curse and profanity in the face of the Creator. It's like telling our parents we can do whatever we want to while still totally dependent upon them. (See also Matthew 22:37 KJV Bible and note below)*

Not striving to raise in knowledge of self, is a curse to more than self.

I love you, not meant, is a curse.

Calling ourselves friends, but without the supporting action, is swearing in front of people. Aren't the lukewarm spewed like a curse? (See also, "Unconditional Love & Friendship - Telling The Truth And Avoiding The Error of Omission")

What goes against natural law, is a curse.

Harming the ecosystem, is a curse. It's swearing we don't need to respect Supreme Law.

”Weeds,” “pests,” “bugs,” “invasive” and other such words, are curse words. Calling other living beings out their name is not something the intelligent do.

To attach criminal terms to weather and other natural events, is profanity.

Making life about money and not har-mony, is swearing to agree to the lifestyle of thieves.

What interferes with inherent rights, is a curse.

Personal choices to harm self, is like not giving a damn about what it takes to make the fundamentals of being alive, possible.

The absence of good habits, is swearing a commitment to weakness.

”God Bless America,” is a curse phrase. It is worse than flat out Satan worship. Here we are, pledging allegiance to masters of malfeasance. We are also acquiescing to regimes engaging in anti-God behavior, despite the great commandment to love thy neighbor. (See also Matthew 22:39 KJV Bible and note below)*

There are many more parts to the definition of curses...

Comparing Lists

These expanded categories of despicable words and actions obviously dwarf those most often implicated. In comparison to the harm this expanded list causes, the short list is merely a list of interjections we attach meaning to, but of themselves, are a lot less harmful.

If honest, we realize, probably everyone curses a lot more than we'd like to think. So it's really not about curse words by name but about the curses we accept without shame.

So please, if we're members of the CPP (Curse Police Patrol), we should stop profiling others and go after ourselves.

Curse words plague individuals, all types of relationships, families and countries. Curse words are passed on as legacies and show up as dysfunctions.

*Note

This means, we are not to be deceived by any behavior that runs counter to the first and second great commandments. They are not to be believed as the intentions of the Creator. Understanding has been simplified for us right here in these verses. Therefore, any belief that makes the first or second great commandment null and void and/or subject to exception, is a cursed belief.

We don't need anyone with any type of degree to explain to us how to live spiritually and righteously. It's in the ecology and in us, genetically.

Teaching Proverbs: Foolish, Deceitful, Religion, Answering Prayers And So Continues The Meaning Of Life & Existence (Part 8p)

I asked for blessings. I prayed for help. I prayed for health. I asked for money and other such wealth. I forgot to pray, not even “by the way,” for knowledge of self.

I was caught up in my sleepiness by a golden stork. Its rainbow-tipped wings touched both horizons. It balanced itself in this fashion and we were suspended, motionless above and below multitudes.

I was shown two people in the lower portion. I watched. I soon tired and asked again for blessings. I was told I would be returned and awakened immediately if I answered one question correctly.

”But what about my blessings,” I asked again? Clarity will bring blessings I was told. If I did not answer correctly, I would be returned but even more distracted and more sleepier.

There was a long silence. The rest of the conversation took place within. During that time, I paid closer attention to those two people.

I noticed they knew each other and were both following the same religion. One of them had "recommended" the religion to the other, yet did not have values as the religion. Their words, actions and relationship were incongruent because they were trying to communicate using different definitions. Though they used the same words, they had very different meanings. Only one of them knew it. “Something is seriously wrong here,” I thought.

Now soul satisfied that my reflections had led me to the critical thought, the question was provided. “Which one is foolish and which one is deceitful?”

Bobby McFerrin Made Me Curse, At First

Bobby McFerrin is a freakin' genius. He's been 'round long time but my discovery has not. Being familiar with “Don't Worry Be Happy” or a Cosby Show theme song ain't even a decent taste of his talent.

Observe these videos, absorb the playlist on this page and stroll through even more performances on Youtube. Now, the making of celestial sound...

1. Bach Ave Maria

2. Ave Maria again, but this time it's probably the best concert sing-along ever.

3. Thinkin' About Your Body

4. Turtle Shoes

5. Good Lovin'

6. A Piece, A Chord

7. Say Ladeo

By now, you know it wasn't Mr. McFerrin at all who made me curse. It was the surprising powerful impact of his purely filtered magnificence. I swore because I cheated myself for so long by being without this nourishing awareness and influence so easily within reach. How the heck can someone bring forth such sensational songs with only voice and body often making all or a majority of the tonal vibrations?

I take back what I said earlier. Bobby McFerrin is no genius. He's a wizard as in wisdom. No one creates magnitude of elemental good vibrations without their portion of divine spirit being aligned with what it needs to be.

I imagine myself smokin' a papyrus pipe, feasting on figs and Hapi water within the expansiveness of the Great Per-Neter while Mr. McFerrin, aligned with its apex and amplified by moonlight, becomes the notes of twinkling lights. He, carrying me along then leaving me to learn the histories and instructions lining walls and objects. I am educated by elements seeking to manifest through me and enrich the connecting chord.

Bobby McFerrin's emanations are matrimony of humanness and godliness. It is love chemistry borne of an almighty alchemist's formula. It comes together under a honeyed moon. It elevates joy. It invites inspiration. It embodies interpretation that evolves from truth. It is maturing transcendence of primordial language that nourishes every cell, every nucleus, every fiber of being alive in DNA and every particle of existence.

Bottom Lines:
Bobby McFerrin is beckoning us towards belief that it is “possibilities” that are as the cattle on a thousand hills on a trillion planets. No need to count blessings when you access this level of possibilities. You become the blessing. You become the ptahway to possibilities.

7 Proverbs You Haven't Heard | Ujima Kwanzaa Celebration

At the Ujima Kwanzaa celebration today, participants shared proverbs. I heard this one deeply:
He who upsets a thing should know how to rearrange it.
Now, to me, this proverb means: don't mention a problem without providing a solution.
It also means: if I'm going to encourage something I must also provide things to help attain it.

In keeping with the blessing of today, here are seven personal proverbs.

1. Who can tell happiness or sadness from a hyena's laugh or a cat's cry?

2. Might as well, is the best worst reason to do anything.

3. He who only listens with his ears hears less than he who is deaf.

4. It takes two halves to make a whole, but two wholes to make one relationship that has half a chance.

5. Encouragement is: More than words can say.

6. The more time spent hiding things or keeping a thing hidden, the less time available to find things.

7. The farmer who must know how much rain or sun his crops will get, or what his harvest will be before planting, will never set foot in the field. His seeds will lose their power while in his hands, in his pocket or in the safe place he stores them.

In addition to overall comments you'd like to share, consider these this question:
1. In what way does one or more of these proverbs become usable for you in your life?

The Average Person's Expert

You know how in the movies this expert at something and this average person are in an impossible situation and the expert says to the average person, “Stick with me” or “Stay close” or “Do exactly as I say.” Then they go through a lot of stuff and they both make it. In real life I’m the average person and the Spirit’s the expert.

Just like in the movies, despite the seriousness of life situations, there’s usually a funny moment or two. After telling me about bravery last week, the Spirit poked me in the side and asked, “Can we move forward, please?” Though I hesitated, again, all it took was for me to say, “Yes we can,” again.

Last week I thought I was summarizing what it has taken when really it was what it’s gonna take. This is another phase and a time for refocusing. “A time for recommitment,” the Spirit added. “If you believe the most important thing about an accomplishment is the accomplishment itself, you don’t know the half of anything. Your thinking makes me finite, incapable of being all that I am. Blessings become abominations if they stop with your life.”

Blessings one has,
Not kept, but passed,
Will always last.

Opening The Gift Of Childhood

I’m amazed and saddened at how many grown people over 40 believe they don’t know what they’re supposed to be doing. They say they don’t know what they want to do, what they’re good at or where their natural, God-given talents lie.

We lament lives cut short and talents taken to the grave rightfully so. Sadness fills the womb of Mother Earth. I mourn even more when we still have life and don’t do things on purpose despite the unopened gifts we know are already in the grave.

What do I think about, dream about, gravitate towards or do easily? What am I doing when time passes quickly and the thought of eating is an interruption? What do I do that I can’t wait to do again? In what area do I get a lot of ideas? What makes me feel alive?

Many answers are in the time prior to 18, our childhood years, a time when money was not a motive. Oftentimes what we once found challenging in our childhood is where our blessings and talents lie.

Here’s a novel idea. If you don’t know, ask somebody. It’s amazing how often family and friends can confirm what we can’t believe.

To be a success in life is to work with what you’ve got and make the most of what you have. You don’t have to be a public star to be a superstar. Go ahead! Open your gifts! If you’ve already been a faithful steward with one gift, then open another gift.

I’m 44 and just recently realized I’m supposed to write. This is a whole other level from wanting to, liking to or loving to. Please share when and what you’ve realized you’re supposed to do. What fulfills you fills the world with the joy of another gift being opened.

Conflicts, Creativity & Gifts

First posted 6/24 to CRPS/RSD taking control, Poetry and Writing page. Some changes made. “Gift Wrapping” is from the book, "Eloquence: Rhythm & Renaissance"

Conflicts will generally arise when the mind and body take even the slightest precedence and control over the heart, soul and spirit. Each person has intuitive gifts of discernment and intuitive gifts of creativity. We just have to slow down, quiet down and achieve stillness to be in communion with these gifts.

Creativity in some form comes naturally to each of us because it is a naturally occurring event (not a phenomenon) in the Universe and why the Universe exists at all. Creativity is the blood and breath of all we know. It is the nurturing force and the nutritional fullness of living on purpose.

Apart from Life itself being a gift, the safari of life is a bountiful realm in the gift department that supplies each of us with more than enough creativity to navigate and participate. All we have to do is come into the knowledge of these blessings.

Gift Wrapping

in sunlit spaces after raining
goodness and grace,
the unchangeable spirit
flashes colorful smiles,
continues accentuating, grooving
extending the line of true passion
from where God knows
to where aimers go,
manifesting into us along the way
with stylish, bold strokes,
a never-ending, free-flowing fountain
of thriving, rejuvenating potential,
enough for every thirst,
enough for every vessel.

Afterthought
Call someone a prodigy, gifted, talented, good, a natural, having a knack or a sixth sense if you want. These descriptions belong to everyone. We are born to create. These blessings come with breathing, gift-wrapped in our spirits by the Great Giver of Gifts.
