Essential Goodness, Aliveness & Addictions
What I Need Is Something Different
Phase One
Unity Consciousness #1080

.

I fall asleep. I feel heavy, restful, rejuvenating. I feel asleep. I am dreaming quiet sound and still motion in zero rhythm.

Addictions arise in the absence of the essential aliveness that I am, so I need a substitute. I need more, more more a, b, c,...xx, yy, zz....what I need is something different....I want the food, the clothing and the shelter....they sell broken dreams that can't help me...

”1 Giant Leap, What I Need Is Something Different” (Version 2)

And I begin to rise awake. I feel awake but groggy, so I hesitate, slide backwards as I wait. This process repeats for several takes until slowly bit by bit and suddenly all at once, I feel good, alive, as asleep and awake switch sides of the Truth. The horizon and poles are dynamic balancers and magnetic challengers of all crossroads of culture and choice, no and yes...

”1 Giant Leap - What I Need Is Something Different [Feat. Speech & Boots Riley] ” (Version 1)

”Working with People Food Addiction Its Root Causes and Possible Pathways to Recovery ”

Everything happens quickly, it just takes a long time to develop.
Everything is right there and nowhere to be found.

”What About Me? 'Wanting' (TFF Documentary) by One Giant Leap”

”Eckhart Tolle's Secret to Happiness in 3 Words | A New Earth | Oprah Winfrey Network”

“Addiction Solution From Eckhart Tolle.” ... the reason I seek out drug-induced highs is because I am not in touch with myself and the “aliveness within me” so I look for substitutes.

How Chameleons & Humans Came Into Original Existence
Unity Consciousness #917

.

A hippopotamus gave birth to a crocodile who gave birth to a hawk.
Each gave birth to an ideology who ruled the circle for a season, during which everything was named according to prevailing reason.
In the first season, the children settled on the word, chameleon.
In the second, they fell into liking, human.
As the third season rose close, what approached, was what was needed most - the return of the original season of birth before first when understanding was clearly worth.

African Deep Thought In Proverbs, Quotes & More
Unity Consciousness #720

.

(Part 15 of 15)

1. Spirituality is to religion as a field of plants is to a house plant. Religion is an extremely tiny portion of spirituality in a container of unnatural soil in an unnatural environment that is fed unnatural food unnaturally.

2. Humans are the Gods of religion because religion depends on humans to supply its needs. Spirituality is filled with the Gods of all Creation because spirituality is recognized as the source of all things that keeps all alive. Religion serves humans only and only some humans at that and usually males mainly and always does a disservice to Africans.
In other words, if you follow religion you are following Gods who serve humans only, some humans, males and who are not designed to help Africans. Religion is not for Africans (human beings) because a plant in a container cannot feed the entire person for life.
Religion is like an annual plant. It exists in conditions not of its origin. All human would die if we depended on plants and other things that were annual.
Spirituality is perennial. Spirituality is the larger context, within which, religion exists annually as a minute matrix. Life is created by and sustained by that which is perennial, including all that is perennial outside this Earth. Nowhere in the perennial nature of the universe is there room for the human image to be the long-term primary image of the Supreme Being.

3. An established tree never stops repeating the growth process.

4. Stretching for understanding promotes growth of the capacity to understand.
In other words, in order to acquire new understanding, you have to take time and make room in your mind, so new and old information can be processed in the same mind space until connections and ordering are complete, resulting in understanding.

5. As Maat is fixed and variable, structure is for rigidity and flexibility.

6. When there is nothing better to do, don't do it.
Find something better to do.

7. Popularity profits someone not you.

8. Go along with the crowd only if you have scouted ahead and can make it back safely on your own.

9. Understanding that keeps you from understanding more is not understanding.

10. The branch is more secure, does more work and bears the load but the fruit gets the glory. Let it not be so with you, the fruit of all that came before.

11. Anything necessary but undone lives in your shadow. Your spirit bears the responsibility and struggles to move higher under the load.

12. The problem is not being afraid but staying afraid because understanding stays put.

13. Fear decreases as understanding increases.

14. Fear easily manipulates belief because belief has more of a basis in hope, wish and desire; however, fear's bluff is exposed in the Light of understanding gained through multiple ways of knowing.

15. What you have to do is not always the same as what you're here to do.

16. Answers won't come unless questions invite them into consciousness and studying goes and gets them.

17. “The only thing that changes is who's got the land and who don't.” (From the movie, “Posse”)

18. “I've heard of sweet milk turning sour but never the other way around.” (Granny Clampett, Beverly Hillbillies)

19. A culture of enslavement teaches you to feel free based on the length and color of your chains.

20. Let your willingness bring you to the river of understanding and the force of your search will carry you across guided by Ancestors on all sides.

21. Those who are wrong, weak, immature or fearful, attack, especially sneak attack. (UC#651)
Those who are strong and mature, fight back against the systems that give rise to their attackers, otherwise, there will never be peace.

22. The right to do something bears responsibility for doing it.

23. Life will be different when you are.

24. If you're going to follow a belief without investigating its merits, you might as well pattern your life after whoever introduced you to the idea.

25. Answers won't come unless questions invite them into the path of logic and studying paves the way.

26. The best you can do is in genetics potentially.

27. As spirituality is resurrected from the grave, fear, to rest, is laid.

28. Figuring out how to do something is often the hardest part of the process.
The hardest part is over. The rest is process – applying understanding to process.

29. “The struggle is never an event. It's a process - a continual eternal process.” (Kwame Ture)

30. The weaker nature within self, facilitates discouragement. Your stronger nature is your source of encouragement. Be aware of your weaker nature but pay more attention to your stronger nature.

31. “When you speak of being conscious, do not speak of being tired.” (Kwame Toure)

32. The only acceptable tiredness is at the end of the day when it's time to sleep.

33. African deep thought was not just back then (UC#701). It has always been since human origin. It is ongoing. African deep thought is not a monolith to visit and admire. It is an ever-changing ocean and mountain in us, whose rhythms light the way for consciousness to follow in our process of again becoming One Light.

34. If it is appropriate to breathe deeply and feel deeply, then it is also appropriate to think deeply – if you are to drink deeply from spirit.

35. Understanding requires continuous learning. Learning requires an open-mind and willing spirit.

36. Everything must return to its source, its origin. Since we came into existence through stages and a succession of origins, so also is the return journey home to Oneness - through the Blackness of the Black Whole into the Light of the Spiritual.

37. Anything can change in an instant because everything is always changing.

38. A problem is an abandoned solution.

39. To know truth is to honestly seek it.

Social Interactions & Dynamics Of Thoughts & Behavior
Unity Consciousness #440

.

An interesting set of social interactions occurred today. Well, at least interesting to someone who finds the facets of human behavior fascinating. All of us, to some degree, are social scientists because we study human behavior, just not enough of our own.

Setting

I walked to a nearby gas station. I was carrying an approved red plastic container. I was dressed for blue collar labor with workboots, jeans, loc sock and sweat and dirt to match. This particular gas station is frequented by blue collar workers. There were several coming and going as I arrived.

Interaction #1

As soon as I walked in, I noticed the registers were occupied by other customers. I've developed the habit of not paying attention to certain people who are not in my direct line of vision and have nothing to do with my purpose at the moment. Before I could come to a standstill and wait in line, a chastising voice said, “You can't have that in here!” (It was like the sound of a parent's voice to a child, “Get out of here with those dirty shoes on, can't you see I just mopped the floor?”) I looked slightly to one side and one of those other people I try to ignore, was an employee indicating I had to leave the gas can outside. I instantly noticed the person behind the counter look at the other employee like, “Is all that tone necessary?”

In a split second I also considered my responses and decided one person's ignorance is not enough to do battle with when a war is at stake. I kinda looked at the employee in the general direction and said, “Okay” in a voice so calm, I wondered if I was medicated. I usually throw rocks at people, that was until one ricocheted and hit me. I remembered that. I took the gas can outside.

Interaction #2

I came back, interacted with the cashier. I sensed the cashier's sympathetic vibes in her voice and gestures. I ignored the other employee who was still standing there. I got some gas and began to walk back down the road.

Interaction #3

As I was about to cross the road, I heard a voice call out to someone. I took a few more steps then turned around. Another employee, who had come out a side door, asked if I needed a ride somewhere. Reasonably, the employee must have thought my car was out of gas somewhere. Now, understand I had just purchased 4 ½ gallons of gas, which doesn't sound like much but it's 37 pounds. Try dangling that at the end of one arm and carrying it about 4 city blocks on a hot day. It is not a normal way of using these muscles. Even before the employee stopped me, I was thinking the gas was heavier than I anticipated. I pointed and told the employee I was just going over there and said thanks for asking.

Thoughts

What makes these interactions interesting is some of the demographics and dynamics. Remember, these interactions are taking place August 31, 2015 in this very sick place called America where the status quo people of racism and other discriminations are actually trying to answer the question, “how low can we go?” I am African, 52, hair in locs, dressed as described above and displaying a non-engaging, non-emotionally reactive demeanor. I was all about the business of getting some gas and getting back alive.

The first employee was a white female in her early to mid 30s.
The cashier was a black female at least 5 years older than the first employee.
The last employee was a white male about the same age as the cashier.

Things for me to reflect on are:

1. An ongoing test is not to allow the lower self of others to pull me into a lower self reaction.
2. The spirit of the higher self, the human beingness part, is still alive in others, to some degree, expectedly in some and not so much so in others.
3. Individual encounters are not to be allowed to override encounters we all face.
4. It never ceases to amaze me how much attention black folks get when doing common everyday things. This is true wherever we go and “other” people are there. This especially happens all day at places of employment. Some folks will put up cameras and microphones in their yards to watch blacks in their yards. Others use drones and other basic eavesdropping and spy techniques. There is no such thing as privacy. Even the spies are being spied on. Privacy is about as private as racism is hidden.
5. I get the sense that the cashier and last employee were trying to offset the necessary/unnecessary attitude of the first employee and that she has displayed a similar demeanor towards certain customers before. I know this because I sense the extra mile of extending self to me of the other two for something, that although was rude, was not earth-shattering.
6. The warrior's greatest strengths are wisdom and understanding the dynamics of his weapons and the enemy's weapons.
7. Sometimes the needle in the haystack finds you.
8. It's amazing how much information the entire self processes and considers in microseconds and milliseconds. This has a direct correlation to health.
9. I was meditative rather than medicated.

Improve Unity Consciousness & Spider Solitaire Performance
Unity Consciousness #333

.

Every Move Must Take All Of The Following Into Consideration:

1. Understand the nature of the challenge by studying the interrelated messages on this topic.

2. As soon as possible, empty a row. This will provide free space (work space) to move cards around. Free space allows us to more easily defragment what has been disordered and disconnected. No game can be won without the use of free space. (thus the additional black energy and black matter in the universe). The longer free space is maintained during each round, chances of winning improve.

3. When moves seem equal, choose the move that turns over a card in a row with the least amount of hidden cards (unknowns).

4. When there are no more moves in a round and free space must be occupied, always move cards out of the way of rows almost solved or that just need one or two cards to connect them or free up space.

5. Designate one or two sacrificed rows that will be used to pile up cards not needed at the time. These rows are least likely to move the game forward under the current set of conditions. Sacrificed rows can and will change multiple times in a round and throughout the game.

6. Do not move cards into a free space unless the benefit is greater than losing the free space.

7. Face cards should not be moved into a free space unless they are all in order so the whole group can be easily moved at the earliest opportunity. The higher the topmost face card in a row, the more difficult it will be to reclaim that free space since cards and groups can only be moved onto cards of a higher numerical value, thus, “Kings” are the worst face card to move into a free space. When possible, opt for cards in the 4 to 10 range.**

8. When deciding among moves, choose the one that moves a row closer to being a free space. The more free spaces available at the same time greatly improve chances of winning because it allows reordering of rows that are very much out of order. It allows getting things in better order without losing all free spaces. The simultaneous availability of two to four free spaces during a round greatly improves chances of winning. Having as much free space as possible to move around, work with and sort things out is the number one essential strategy to improving Unity Consciousness and Spider Solitaire performance.

9. When a final move in a particular round is between putting a card in order or turning over a hidden card, choose the latter. It is more important to know an unknown, thus the importance of know yourself, thus the importance of study.

10. Do not move cards just because it's possible. Only make moves that contribute to solving the entire problem.

11. Some things in order will have to be taken out of order and then put back in order. This is necessary to get other things in order first.

12. Before running out of moves in a particular round and occupying free space, always use free space to move cards around to favor the options most likely to appear in the next round. This can be assessed based on cards already in play.

13. After dealing a round of cards, the first priority is to regain free space. The necessity of free space cannot be overemphasized. Not only does free space make optimal use of moves when dealing with many unknowns, there is genius to the strategy. Every challenge can be overcome, defeated or significantly minimized by taking the offensive approach and making full use of that which seeks to limit performance. When all rows are occupied (brain space), we can only move what has been dealt and what we can see. There is no free space (free time or freedom for the mind). Running out of moves happens quickly in this scenario. The only way to get more moves is to deal in another round of cards, but this also adds another level of complexity and covers up moves previously made. Freeing up space in the game (the mind) is the strategy of grouping into one or two spots things that can't yet be solved. This moves them temporarily out of the way and allows us to work on rows that can be more easily ordered. This allows more moves before having to deal in another round of cards. This also will lead to gaining more free space much quicker because as we make more moves, putting things in order, more hidden cards will be revealed, thus emptying one or more rows, thus providing more free space. Free space is the strategy of taking space filled with one option (one card showing that sits on top of several hidden cards) and then moving and stacking those limitations together in a few spots out of our immediate way. Then we can take control of the space that used to be used to limit us, and use the space to our advantage to clear things up and gain more free space and eventually get back around to clearing up rows that have not been worked on in awhile. When we use free space, understanding it is a basic need and an essential nutrient, we turn disadvantages in the game into many more advantages. This is genius. What we will discover, is that at any point in the game, when down to the last move, if free space is available, protected and preserved as a precious commodity, all it takes is one card – the revealing or understanding of one more unknown. That next card when combined with free space can turn a last move into several more moves and can, in fact, be the final key to opening the way to seeing things clearly and to putting all things in order.

14. Late in the game, when two or more free spaces become available, reduce the confusion among the cards in the sacrificed rows by putting them in better order, even if it's not complete order.

15. Late in the game, when we're almost there but there are no more moves, yet we still must move cards into the free space in order to move on, move the lowest numerical values possible into the free spaces since these low value cards will be the last cards needed to complete an ordered set of cards. This choice is not absolute and must be balanced against all other considerations of the game and the known conditions at the time.

16. Move on or start over when a certain set of cards and moves lead to nowhere – an unwinnable game. Reshuffle things, re-deal and continue playing. Both Unity Consciousness and Spider Solitaire are winnable through the acquisition and uniting of understanding.

17. Unity Consciousness and Spider Solitaire, in simple terms, are about putting back into order what has been moved out of order. They are challenges to help us practice the skills already within us. If it was not possible to win, it would not be a challenge. If it was really easy to win, it would not be a challenge.
In the game of universal life (Unity Consciousness) and in the card game (Spider Solitaire), we put our moves into order by acquiring and connecting understanding of what is going on. Even so, there is another simultaneous goal – make efficient use of all resources by optimizing available options when all things are not in our control and not as we'd like. Things that challenge us are inefficient. By being efficient, we gain the upper hand. As we utilize free space and fundamental laws to put things in order, we are able to clean up incredible messes made, no matter how they came about, how long they've been around and no matter who messed things up. It is as if we become the Great Spider and grow eight hands that not only give us greater mobility but also all these hands move resources around, working on restoring order to the cosmic web.

**Things in life can only be put in order by placing what is of lower value underneath that of higher value. Higher value must be put into place first in order for things to be put into proper order. Moves must be made from the lower self to the higher self. When that which is of lower value is placed into position last, things are in proper order and vice versa. What is of lower value does have value but only when in proper order. What is of lower value is necessary to provide completion and solve Unity Consciousness & Spider Solitaire.
Free space your mind and your best will follow.

Sure Signs, Symptoms, Causes & Effects Of Mental Illness, Part 6
Unity Consciousness #254

.

A sure sign, symptom, cause and effect of mental illness is thinking the past, the present and the future are three different things.

The past, the present and the future are three parts of one thing – motion. Together they represent time trinity, so to speak. They form one continuous process of time where each part affects the other, shapes the other and becomes the other.

Present Understanding

Due to malfunctioning minds at the cellular level, your larger mind does not realize you cannot live or function in the present without using the past and being affected by the past.

Although you can't live IN the past, you always live WITH the past.

Since you are living with the past, the past has obviously moved forward into the present where you are. This means you are living in the present in the past.

In other words, No, you can't live in the past in a “go back in time and live back then” sort of way. However, Yes, you do live in the past in a “the past transforms itself into the present” sort of way.

What “The Present” Really Is

The present is merely a workspace where both the past and the future take shape.

The present is merely a workspace where the past and the future are connected.

The present shapes the connection between the past and the future.

The present becomes part of the past and part of the future.

The present becomes the past and the future.

Related Proverbs:

Peer into the past, recognize yourself, now walk presently as your future.

Take One Step Towards God | Proverbs
Unity Consciousness #226

.

We are all being called home. The return journey to oneness is the universal pilgrimage. Regardless of how it seems, home is not that far away.

Home Will Come & Meet You

Understood by many groups worldwide is that God comes towards us when we seek understanding. God is understanding. God is home. Understanding and home will meet us as we head towards them which makes home and understanding not as far away as we think.

How Many Steps Will God Take?

2 steps - “If you make one step, God will make two.” (African American)

2 steps - “If you take one step towards me, I will take two steps towards you. I will lend you my strength. I am always with you.” (Maitreya.) (Who is Maitreya?)

9 steps - “If you take one step towards the Universe, she will take nine steps towards you.” (Sadeqajohnson.com)

20 steps - “If you take one step towards God, God takes twenty steps towards you.” (Guru Granth Sahib)

12 Of Life's Proverbial Lessons Through Metaphor
Cheryl's Birthday Logic Word Problem
Unity Consciousness #186

.

See, ”Cheryl's Birthday Logic Word Problem & Possible Solution.”

Life Lessons

1. Study & practice to recognize when you're being misdirected and distracted.

2. Each person has at least some portion of truth.

3. Don't let words confuse you when actions have already told you everything. This also applies to what you tell yourself. Knowing yourself clears up confusion because it defragments and unifies understandings separated in memory.

4. Not all choices are answers and not all answers are solutions.

5. Problems can be made more difficult by how they're presented and stated.

6. Problems can be made more difficult by having different contexts, meanings, definitions and understandings than that presented in the problem. Know yourself is the main context for the meanings of life and existence.

7. Understanding and assumption (false notion) can impersonate each other.* They are easily found out by testing their logic. Test understandings against understandings, assumptions against assumptions and understandings against assumptions. Critical mistakes occur in life when periodic logic testing is not performed. These tests are not scheduled but should take place as they come up through experience because that's where understandings and assumptions are born, developed and verified.

8. Although problems contain the solution, do not allow problems to dictate the solution. If you allow the problem to control the process, you will leave out solutions because the problem, representative of the lower self, does not want to go away. The solution must be brought out through study, which is often not a lengthy process.

9. The process to reach solutions often goes down many roads to be explored but ultimately must be abandoned. This is for wisdom. Yes, there must be a will in order to find your way. When you are ready to take the necessary steps, that is the quickest and the shortest path.

10. Word problems test listening, reading, comprehension and analysis skills. You use these talents all the time. Life's problems are word problems and logic problems, just to name a few types.

11. Just like word problems, life problems are sometimes not straightforward and contain erroneous and misleading information, intentional or not.

12. For some of life's most seemingly difficult problems, sometimes there is more than one possible solution because Maat is both fixed and variable.

Through all available languages, you are being told what you need to know to help you solve life's problems. You are being told personally and separately so you don't have to rely on secondhand information about basic needs that are spiritual. The Spirit of Truth is calling from everywhere your attention is. You are again atop the horizon, in position to step onto the other dimensional side. This di-side always exists where you decide.

*Impersonation is less possible as we move closer to unity consciousness on the return journey home to oneness wholeness.

Messages & Messengers| Ways of Knowing
Unity Consciousness #120

Before a need ever appears
The resource is already here

Multiple Messengers

There are multiple ways of knowing to receive understanding. This is in accordance with the abundance nature of the Creator. If understanding is what we need, the abilities and ways to get understanding are supplied abundantly just like all other needful things. It's up to us to put the need and the resource together. In the same way we can get the same nutrition from multiple foods, we can get the same understanding in multiple ways from multiple places.

Show me who you are in every way.
Help me receive your instructions and messengers.
With humility and thankfulness.

Multiple Messages

The spirit sends messages from our spirit, through anyone, any experience, nature, dreams, conversations, writings, music, television, sports and so on.
When understanding is needed
Meaning has already been put into messages
Listen to the messengers to receive it
The best understanding comes spiritually. Spiritual understanding develops through unity consciousness. This way of knowing allows us to decode messages that don't seem like messages otherwise. It allows us to decipher messages from within our spiral DNA and all the way to messages in the spiral DNA of Milky Way.

As said before, in order to receive the same meaning, we need the same context and definitions. In order to understand the messages of the Creator we must use higher spirit within, not the lower spirit within.

Messages from the Creator meant for us, we do not have to get them from another person, a holy book, holy prophets, a preacher or a “spiritualist” by any name. This blog is not the best place. It is to get us back to relying, recognizing and nutritioning the higher spiritual self.

Warning Messages

The closest opportunity is the subconscious mind. It sends messages into our conscious mind in the same way messages pop-up on computers but with greater frequency. The subconscious mind is spirit trying to provide understanding.

Even so, the Faithful One always warns and provides signs through multiple messengers with the same message stated differently. As said above, wherever we are mentally and spiritually, there are ways to get the messages we need.

It is one thing to not understand and another thing to not seek understanding or avoid it to protect understanding we already have.

There were so many messengers with warnings who proclaimed. Yet you hearkened to the weaker, the carnivorous creature. and not the sisters and brothers who offered nutrition in accordance with their duty as thy keeper to free you from Stockholm syndrome.

Consciousness Rising

The time span between message, messenger and manifestation of the message is shortening. As our studies progress, we will find information needed has been brought into existence more and more recently. In other words, the need and the resource are being born closer together. The learning curve is also shortening in order to fulfill what is needed to overcome the rising upheaval.

On each side of the event horizon
Everything needed is arriving
Understanding is synthesizing
Higher consciousness is rising
Though humans are destroying and dividing
Natural ones are restoring and multiplying
Equations are equalizing
Believe the truth can be found and have faith in the ability of the Higher Power to teach the truth.

Loosen Up And Know Knowledge | An African Proverb
Unity Consciousness #88

Who, upon gaining a degree of knowledge, holds it so tightly with one hand that no more knowledge can be grasped?

Then, with the other hand (free hand), cover the hand holding the knowledge, shield it, so to speak, as a form of double protection against a two-way leak.

Whatever knowledge is held must be held lightly, not tightly.

Africans must loosen up our grip on the little bit of knowledge we actually have, relative to the universe of knowledge.

By holding knowledge tightly, not only can no more knowledge get in, the knowledge within hand can't grow. It can't even assist us on the other hand.

Knowledge is a living thing; therefore, it needs room to breathe. Therefore also, knowledge needs to be fed knowledge in order for both knowledge and that which takes hold of it, to grow.

Knowledge feeds knowledge. The Creator is knowledge. We are as knowledge to the Creator. Neither one hand nor two hands can hold all this knowledge. This is why it is foolish to try to hold the knowledge we have desperately so. Knowledge can only be held and stored securely in the universe because there it has no place else to go.

Knowledge, like love, is for the collective benefit, not for the individual to be limited. It is not something to hold on to for dear life. It is to help expand self towards knowing all else, not to have in hand what leads towards knowing nothing else.

The universe is teaching - all things, all ways.

Loosen up and know knowledge.

Understanding African Family Values
An African Proverb, Part 3
Unity Consciousness #80

This is an extension of ”Many Rivers To Cross Of Understanding.”

African Family Values

Our African family depends entirely upon communal living principles. Those with elder knowledge must become teachers to those with younger knowledge in this self-perpetuating manner: holding responsibility, the elder reaching down, the younger reaching up while the elder lifting up, the younger rising, holding responsibility. This ensures each family member teaches another family member the family values. This also ensures values extending, ancestors descending, family continuing.
(From ”Definitions: Communing, Sustainability, Descendent, Family Values & Spiritual Genetics Context”)

Going Back and Forth

In keeping with the above and with "each one teach one," family members must still go back and forth to rivers crossed. As more people cross back and forth, there will always be someone to help the next one who has just reached a river they have already crossed. An equally important reason for going back and forth is for additional understanding.

Many Rivers To Cross Of Understanding
An African Proverb, Part 2
Unity Consciousness #78

This is an extension of ”Meet Me At The River Of Understanding.”

Just Get There

People who won't come to the riverside or who tarry too long down by the riverside are people to push to the side, attention-wise. (This is in keeping with know thy self). I will not allow these people to get in my way if they are not trying to reach understanding. If these people know another way to get there, more power to them, because the following point of view is true: “I don't care how you get there, get there if you can.”

If these people think they have already reached understanding and I know I have not, yet we are both on the same side of the river, at least one of us needs to move on. One of us needs to move on mentally, emotionally and spiritually because understanding is not a physical place. Even so, to get to understanding we often must move away from someone physically.

I can always know without a doubt if I and another person have reached the same understanding by comparing our behavior. If our behavior is complementary, we are in the same place of understanding.

I must be careful here. I must slow down and be clear about what I have just said to myself: just because I have reached the same understanding as another doesn't mean I am in the right place of understanding. Sameness of understanding is not the same thing as rightness of understanding.

What is rightness of understanding? Behavior that complements an ecosystem that complements the Creator's ecosystem.

Seeds Of Understanding

It would be great if everyone could reach understanding at the same time. This ain't going to happen. All seeds planted at the same time do not germinate at the same time. Some seeds never germinate. All plants that germinate at the same time do not grow at the same rate or produce at the same rate. Not all plants that germinate reach maturity.

More Understanding Ahead

I, myself, must not tarry too long down by any riverside. I must move on. I must go ahead and return to the other side of understanding already reached because there are many rivers to cross.

A Bird Follows Me And Now I Know Why
Proverb Poem Of Understanding
Unity Consciousness #68

A Bird Follows Me And Now I Know Why

by Usiku

A bird follows me with damaged wing
Badly in need of healing
Both bird and wing
Neither no longer “becoming”
Unable to fully express being
The bird snaps at me for attempting
To do a little wing doctoring
This happens when much suffering
Is paired with lack of understanding
Even so, the bird can still sing
Though wing and self need repairing
To restore bond of inner and outer things
Which compels me to stop merely feeding
Because though I'm handing
The bird is not reaching, barely opening
Thus I adjust listening and teaching
To the bird's needing
To be unbound from the ground
And false notions weighing it down
To develop foundational hungering
That fuels healing and flying
That won't allow limping along and getting by
But feeds the longing with what satisfies
The truth of self is where reality lies
And also strength and the wherewithal to fly
A bird follows me and now I know why
The only thing that can't be saved
Is that not given a hard enough try
Effort must come from both sides
I followed the bird towards understanding

Meet Me At The River Of Understanding
An African Proverb
Unity Consciousness #67

You can't cross the river from far away. Neither can someone standing by the river help you across unless you meet them by the river.

No one can help you come from far away to the other side of something (understanding), unless you move and travel in the necessary direction. When you are close enough to the river of understanding to touch it but can't seem to figure out exactly how to get across or where the best place to cross is, then, you can be helped.

In the same manner, no one can get another person across from one side of understanding to the other, unless the other person is right there, ready and willing to cross.

So meet me at the river of understanding and be prepared to paddle your own boat because each boat only holds one person at a time.

You cannot cross a river of understanding using the power of someone else's understandings.
Why not?
Because what it took for each of you to get to the river was a different journey; thus so also will it be to get across.

African Anecdote | 2 Jackasses Deny Egypt Is In Africa

This is a true account. Dr. Yosef ben-Jochannan went into the Metropolitan Museum in New York where they have a very fine Egyptian Collection. Dr. Ben was greeted by a young lady at the front desk.
Young Lady: Sir, what can I do for you?
Dr. Ben: I would like to visit the African Collection.
Young Lady: Sir, we do not have an African Collection.
Dr. Ben: I meant to say, Egyptian Collection.
Young Lady: Oh yes! We have an Egyptian Collection but the ancient Egyptians were not African.
Dr. Ben: [pulls out a map and shoves it in the girl's face] Young Lady here's a map of Africa and there's Egypt. Wouldn't you say Egypt was in Africa?
Young Lady: I could say so.
Dr. Ben: Do you say so?
Young Lady: No!
Dr. Ben: Young lady you are a jackass.
Young Lady: [became hysterical and hollered for the manager. The manger came running out.]
Manager: What's the trouble?
Young Lady: Mr. Manager this man just called me a jackass.
Manager: [to Dr. Ben] What's the problem?
Dr. Ben: [tells the manager the story and shows the manager the map] Wouldn't you say Egypt is a part of Africa?
Manager: Well you could say so.
Dr. Ben: Do you?
Manager: No!
Dr. Ben: You're also a jackass.

The young lady and the manager both show signs of poisoning:
1. Mental Illness.
2. False Notions.
3. Closed-mindedness.
4. All information points to human origins in Africa.

Teaching Proverbs | Animism Definition Rejected
African Spiritual Practices Accepted

What is Animism?

To briefly summarize several dictionary references, “Animism” is the belief all things contain spirit. For a moment this seems accurate and kinda harmless because it contains some truth. However, a closer and overall look is warranted.

The term itself is “animal” + “ism.” This implies a religion based on animals and animal worship. It invokes all sorts of notions that are unfounded, foolish and fearful.

The term Animism was only recently created less than a few hundred years ago by the children of the human race to describe what the parents do. The term Animism is often used by non-indigenous outsiders in an attempt to grasp concepts they still do not understand.

Indigenous people Do Not call their spiritual beliefs by the term, Animism. This term has been imposed by those who are opposed to the people and to their beliefs. Most, if not all indigenous people, do not have names for their overall set of spiritual practices. They just do them in the context of life. Why? Since life comes out of the natural world and is sustained by the natural world, this obviously is the best basis we know for the context of life, existence, meaning and understanding.

The term Animism is at best, a narrow, ungrounded perspective. At worst, the term Animism is derogatory, thus dishonest. The promoters of this terminology purposefully defame African spiritual practices. They attempt to arrogantly name what Africans have not named. Is it not sufficient to call them African spiritual practices? Of course not. That would be too much like right.

For those seeking to understand African spiritual practices, one way is to compare apples to apples:

Conversation Between A Knower & A Non-Believer

John: Why do you worship animals and trees? Isn't that kinda crazy?
Mary: I respect animals and trees. Why do you worship a tree?
John: I don't worship trees.
Mary: Do you show reverence for the cross?
John: Yes.
Mary: Wood is a tree.
John: The cross represents a tree. It's not a tree. It's pieces of wood.

Mary: To help me understand this, will you answer a few questions for me John?
John: Sure! I'm open-minded.
Mary: When a chicken walks around, is it a chicken?
John: Yes.
Mary: When it is in the freezer, is it a chicken?
John: Yes.
Mary: When it is on your plate, is it still chicken?
John: Of course it is.
Mary: Was the whole chicken on your plate?
John: Of course not.
Mary: Was the piece of chicken alive on your plate?
John: No.
Mary: Yet, through all the changes the chicken went through and even in pieces it was still chicken.
John: Yep, sure was.
Mary: So no matter the form, chicken is chicken. The chicken wouldn't change even if we call it by a different name. The substance and essence remains though the form may change. In the same way, part of a tree is still the tree, even if the part is not “alive” and even if it is given a different name. Now tell me. Who is crazier, one who reveres the entire tree when it's alive and existing as The Creator designed it or one who reveres a portion of the tree in a man-made form as two pieces of wood crisscrossed?
John: [hesitates for several moments][He considers within himself the following: (1) If I say, the one who reveres the tree is crazy, then I condemn my own practices. (2) If I say both are crazy, I condemn myself also.] John answers: Neither.

The African-centered consciousness rejects the term, Animism. It also rejects another group's explanation of what we do. On the basis of creating the foundations for all civilizations, Africans remain capable of providing any explanations and definitions we deem necessary.

African-centered consciousness is fully aware, the term Animism and the false ideas it generates, are active-aggressive attempts to scare Africans away from their true spiritual practices. These spiritual practices are the undeniable source of our power to overcome all things by the power in all things.

In the link above, Dr. Barashango goes on to explain how the Kemetians continued to rebuild their cities bigger and better each time Kemet was invaded, plundered and torn down. The invaders finally correctly identified the spiritual practices in Kemet as the secret to the people's ability to continue to rebuild. This is why all things African are under attack today.

Expanded Definitions: What Is Money? Quotes, Proverbs & A Joke.

Basic Definition

Money can be anything that can serve as “a medium of exchange that facilitates trade.”

Expanded Definition

Money is a standard measure of value that makes it easier to trade different types of resources. (From ”Expanded Definitions: What Is Time – Money? Keeping Track of Time & Climate Change”)

In other words, money is a temporary placeholder for the value of natural resources.

Money has no value unless there is a resource it represents. When a person works for money, that money represents multiple resources (time, energies, choices, beliefs, values, knowledge, talent, abilities). This is why businesses have departments called human resources.

Illusions

1. You need money to live.
2. Money means success.
3. Money is evidence of the truth.
4. Money is power.

Realities

1. Money is a part of the economic system, resources are a part of the ecosystem.
2. You only need the ecosystem to live.
3. “Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome.” (Dr. Booker T. Washington)
4. Success or failure depends on how well we use available resources.
5. The biggest part of how we make it hard on ourselves is to misuse and under-utilize our resources. In other words, you have not because you waste a lot.
6. “Power is not money but to define money.” (Dr. Bobby Wright)
7. It's possible to have money and still be in slavery because “slavery is when all life sustaining institutions [basic needs] are controlled by another group.” (Dr. Bobby Wright)
8. If anything, make money that makes you versatile, not servile.
9. Faith in money is a vice of the highest cost and ultimate price.
10. Money is a tool forged from resource, only a fool sees it as the only recourse.
11. Instead of saving money, we should be recycling money.
12. It's not possible to believe in anything greater and be limited by anything lesser.
13. You don't need a receipt to exchange a belief.
14. Money is expensive unless money represents the full value of the resources you trade to get money.
15. Wages are a wager.
16. “He that trusteth in his riches shall fall; but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.” (Proverbs 11:28)
17. Capitalism keeps you focused on its money instead of your resources.

If you employ your resources via true education - knowledge of self, self-study and independence of basic needs - life will no longer teeter on the narrow fulcrum of money but rest securely on the broad foundation of resources.

Know Thy Self Poem/Proverb

Know Thy Self*

A person who knows not
And knows not that they know not
Is foolish – disregard them

A person who knows not
And knows that they know not
Is simple – teach them

A person who knows not
And believes that they know
Is dangerous – avoid them

A person who knows
And knows not that they know
Is asleep – awaken them

A person who knows
And knows that they know
Is wise – follow them

All of these persons reside in you
Know Thy Self
And to Maat be true

“Man in the full knowledge of himself is a superb and supreme creature of creation. When man becomes possessor of the knowledge of himself, he becomes master of his environment, the captain of his own ship, the director of his own destiny, the accomplisher of his own ends. Man should understand himself because man is full of knowledge and this knowledge is a gift of nature. When Mother Nature created man, she deprived him of nothing. He was given the faculty of understanding all things around him. This faculty for understanding has not been taken away from him. None of his senses have been taken away from him.” (From, Marcus Garvey Interview )

Individual Responsibility of Oil Spills

Oil spills are the result of just one of the practices harmful to the natural world. Whether we live near other waters or inland, we are not out of the reach of Prince William Sound or the Gulf of Mexico. Neither can we escape individual responsibility.

Businesses and governments are not the cause of environmental problems, they are merely reflections of the majority of individuals. Society reflects the beliefs of its individuals. These beliefs accumulate and spillover into larger society as the policies and practices of its institutions. When enough individuals change their beliefs, society automatically changes. Business will stop going anywhere for anything and using any method to get it. Governments will stop allowing it. Governments will also stop using common monies for its preferences. Individuals will conduct personal private boycotts which will automatically put offending businesses and politicians out of business.

Yes, individuals can reduce the negative effects of large scale disasters such as oil spills by changing their small scale, individual approaches to the natural world. Once enough individuals demand better of themselves, they will not accept excuses from companies and public agencies. There'd be a sincere focus on avoiding man-made disasters.

For instance, we require flood insurance for those living in areas that nature might flood. We should also require environmental damage insurance if any aspect of a business might harm nature. These insurance premiums would be collected by the industry and in case of damage, the entire industry would pay. You gotta pay to play and put in to get in. Although there would still be outside monitoring, this could make each industry mostly self-policing in terms of always being proactive about environmental damage.

Consider the following 12 quotes, proverbs, musings & reflections.

1. Take what's natural, take a part of me.
2. A civilized society does not bite the land that feeds it.
3. Smart people do not leave nature smarting.
4. A man not informed by nature can be many things except wise.
5. People that exhibit intelligence do not inhibit nature.
6. A high regard for technology shouldn't cause a low regard for nature.
7. Parents who mistreat nature want their kids to have a badder life than them.
8. Quality of life is in the ecology of life.
9. Loving gardening and loving nature are not the same things.
10. If grass grows in the garden does it become a weed?
11. There is no personal relationship with God without also having one with nature.
12. If not mindful of nature we are out of our natural mind.
