"Free and critical minds can emerge only by a return to the source-the primary sources. A free and critical mind takes nothing for granted and is not intimidated by "authorities" who frequently may be more confused than the general public. Free and critical minds seek truth without chauvinism or shame."-Asa G. Hilliard III

We need something to clarify everything for us, because we get confused...but if we use the concept of Asili, we will understand that whatever it is they are doing, whatever terms they use, however they come at you, you need to be thinking about what? How is this going to facilitate their power and help them to dominate me? -Marimba Ani

Cognitive Tracks Poem
Unity Consciousness #103

.

Cognitive Tracks

by Ancestors through Usiku

Instead of switching to new cognitive tracks
You stick with the odds instead of facing the facts
Afraid of starting over you mentally divert
Making things worse saying, “I'm not hurt”
Creating more shame from easy come and go fame
Answering stupid questions like “what's my name?”
Keeping busy with head hanging down
Elbows and knees scraping the ground
Jumping for joy each time another is found
Asking traveling companions, “how you like me now?”
Each one jumps off as courage goes soft
And attention is brought to what ride sharing costs
Still hungry for love and alone in the dark lost
Satisfaction is guaranteed a long ways off

This is a follow-up to Meanings, Definitions & Locations Of Love before the part where we start to turn our thinking around and get on the right track towards freedom.

Fulfilled Yet? Are Men Necessary? Masculine & Feminine Energy

Food Fight #52

“Are men necessary?” This question is still being asked. The short answer is no and yes.

No, Men Are Not Necessary

Only nutrition is necessary to live as intended.

Yes, Fulfillment Requires Masculine & Feminine Energy

In addition to the male necessity for procreation, there is another primary reason men are necessary. Masculine/feminine energy is a Supreme principle, earthly principle and cellular principle. In these three areas, both masculine and feminine energies are necessary for balance, harmony and just relationships. For females and males, balancing force/energy can come from a parent, caregiver, sibling, relative, friend, ancestor or deity.

Romantic Relationships

I suspect asking whether or not men are necessary has more to do with romantic relationships, love, happiness and satisfaction than it has to do with anything else. These perspectives should help us move towards fulfillment.

Day 7: Love & Happiness, Ready Or Not?

10 Days Of Upheaval & Fulfillment

Love and happiness are basically the same thing. The real pursuit of either one is an internal experience. This experience is anchored to the ideas and standards we set, respect and connect with.

Mind-centered living comes with the ability to care for another deeply but since it does not involve the entire self, how can connecting with another spirit occur? How can self-love blossom if the entire self is not considered worthy of respect? Personal connection only comes physically, mentally and emotionally while the search for satisfaction is ongoing. It is never found. Souls have no chance of mating.

As always we must align spirit, body and mind, nurture ourselves with food, pursue purpose with passion and improve self-awareness. Once these pieces are on their way together, love & happiness become possible.

Love is an enhancement. It's way up there above deep desire, devotion, affection and emotion. Love is entire. Because love is the whole shebang, it retains all of its faculties. It doesn't lose its mind or go blind. Love does not cause us to abandon the path to our better selves because love and happiness emanate from a spirit trying its best to express its fullest from the Highest.

The combination of dedication, devotion and determination directed towards making ourselves better is the epitome of love making love and a hallmark of happy people everywhere.

Many of us want to reach places far from where we are but we don't have the time, patience or energy to travel the learning process to get there. We prefer to be swept off our feet and carried or we trade newfound time, patience and energy to earn money to purchase our way to love & happiness.

The reason we live and breathe must not be for imitators of love & happiness. It's Day 7 and, by now, we should be getting the sense, that perhaps, we're not making the most of what we've got. If we've followed this series we should have encountered a few reminders of how we can give ourselves a better chance to reach our goals by using all available, mostly free resources.

Hopefully we will stop hiding from what we are seeking and take more steps towards our potential. Now is the time to decide whether we are ready or not for love & happiness.

Craving Sweets, A Heavenly Addiction

Food Fight #27

We shouldn't kick ourselves because we crave sweets. We shouldn't try to control it either. We should roll with it. There's a reason we have this heavenly-tasting addiction.

Craving sweets is natural. One of our basic instincts is to desire sweets because many fresh foods from plants and from the waters contain sweetness. From the beginning, humans were made to crave sweetness so they would desire the things they should eat and know when food is ready to eat.

The main reason humans today have a major problem with their sweet craving is that a lot of what we eat is not fresh food. Since our diets now lacks this freshness, our sweet craving has little to no chance of getting satisfied the way it should.

Instead of man-made sweets, our sweet craving is supposed to make us think of seafood, fruits, vegetables and such. If we were to rekindle and follow this natural instinct by eating as intended, we would be getting our sugar fix and a bunch of other nutrients at the same time.

We shouldn't feel guilty because we crave sweets. It is not an evil urging. We just need to reset it. The natural sweetness in food and our natural desire for it is an addiction made in Heaven.

Food Fight With Seeds

Food Fight #23

What are Seeds?
Like two peas in a pod?
Yes and more!

Like two seeds in a pod

A seed is the same thing as a pea. Yet a seed is so much more. It is also the same thing as a bean, nut (even coconut), kernel, pit, germ, corn, grain, rice and oat, just to name a few. All root vegetables are also seeds such as potatoes, onions. garlic, turnip, rutabaga, carrots, ginger, beets, radishes, turmeric, parsnips, leeks, fennel, etc. Eggs are seeds.

Why are seeds important for health?

A seed is a jam-packed, power-packed, condensed packet of nutrients. It contains everything a plant needs to get off to a healthy start. Therefore, eating a seed is like eating the essence of the plant. A seed provides, pure whole energy for health, cleansing and healing.

This is why it's important to eat seeds or food made with 100% of the whole seed such as whole grain flour, cornmeal, bread, pasta, etc. and brown rice. Eating white flour and rice is like peeling the skin off your beans, peas and corn. It's like eating half your food or only what's in the center of your plate. Basically, don't remove any skin you can eat. It is edible because it is for your health. You even get more nutrients if you eat the thin brown skins inside peanut shells.

A little seed goes a long way

Eating seeds will stave off hunger. Why? Seeds enhance nutritional satisfaction, thus overall health, because seeds provide a variety of nutrients. Seeds help balance the diet. Secondly, it takes time for seeds and seed-laden food to be broken down by digestion into these nutritional components.

Ensuring seeds are a part of your daily diet will help prevent hunger caused by an empty stomach feeling and help prevent hunger caused by the cells asking for more nutrients. Nut seeds are also very useful as the perfect solution to a sweet craving.

A food fight with seeds used to occur more frequently. Nowadays some folks neglect seeds, especially beans, for flat out wrong reasons. Seeds are easy to get into the diet. Many require little to no preparation to enjoy. This is as intended so you don't destroy the goodness. Throwing more seeds around throughout your day is a good fight to pick.

Seeds of life, seeds as life

Seeds can sustain us physically and spiritually. All food has this magnificent ability. Seeds are the power and promise of life. A seed is an embryo, a fertilized egg, a baby, a life in waiting, a life for the giving, a life for the continuance and a life that fulfills the promise that nature does indeed contain all you need.

Believing in Belief

Life Sentences #2

America is like an airplane in trouble. Barack Obama is directing us to the emergency exit. Millions of passengers, believing their intelligence is worth more than the value of their lives are asking, “Do you have enough aviation experience and, by the way, what color is my parachute?”

The only thing they had more than me was belief.
[A reference to those who were already living their dreams from someone in search of satisfaction. She traded security and success and bought back the rest of her life.]

Giving Thanks & Wondering

There must be countless ways to give thanks besides getting together with gobs of food. Couldn't the spirit of thanks find expression in a place of minimization, solitude and fasting?

Is the absence of work and the presence of gobblers the essence of gratitude? Many work during and on holidays, some by choice. Are they ungrateful, unhappy? I'm sure some are appreciative while doing so.

Holidays are holy days. What about those 300+ unofficial, non-nationalized holidays? How do we give thanks for anything at anytime? By satisfying ourselves, buying each other presents, feeding each other or by using our gifts and talents and sharing them with those who need them or by investing in self improvement more than home improvement?

What do we give thanks for? What we have or what we give or some of both? Are we thankful for life and opportunity? Do we wish each other well every day with the festiveness of holiday fever? Do we encourage and require each other to be better. Do we abide by the golden rule, the greatest commandment or the second greatest? Do we stop lying to ourselves (the source of every outward lie and root of evil) and seek satisfaction in our spirit? Do we pursue our purposes and use our gifts?

Over the years, I get the sense that sometimes our method of giving thanks has an obligatory component. There's a pressure to participate rather than pleasure. I gotta cook. I gotta shop. I gotta decorate. I gotta travel. I gotta deal with that relative. I ain't gonna get no rest, etc...What do we really give thanks for? That it's over? To be able to return to our routines? To be able to go back to work and rest? To be able to replenish our other resources?

What are we thankful for now, three days after one of the biggest events of our seasonal lives? I am thankful for flexibility, options and individuality. I'm thankful to be able to help in moments of need and not when it's convenient. I am thankful for spontaneous kindness that is empathized, even if by imagining and wondering, “how would I...?” or “what if I...?”
