Soldiers Lose Friends & Enemies In Spiritual War
Unity Consciousness #958

.

Friends are just as dangerous in war as enemies.
How can this be?
The notion of what a “friend” is, is far too ego-strokingly seductive to our self-esteem to be productive.

We base friendship on who we like.
Who we like is based on our logic.
Our logic is based on information acquired.
Under healthy circumstances, this is as it should be, but right now, most of the information we use has been acquired from those who do not like us.

Consequently, we choose friends based on likes that the enemy likes us to like.

Consequently, we choose “feel good” friends that fundamentally do us no good.

The word friend has gotten us mixed up and messed up just as much as the word love and the word beauty and so many other words that we think are personal preferences, but are not.

In other words, we do not choose friends based on some unique individual set of criteria that we possess. Instead we are taught who to choose as friends.

Now it's time to reassess and simply get rid of both friends and enemies.

Skipping & Re-Flipping From End To Beginning

The designation of ourselves as “friends” is a recent term. It has come about at the end of this process and cycle of human experience.

In earlier times, we recognized life as being first and foremost a continuous spiritual journey.

This spiritual journey is not a walk in the park, stroll, cruise or a vacation.

It is a war.

War does not begin or end based on who we like and who we consider friends.
War is what it is.
War is spiritual, ongoing and nonstop. War exists every moment everywhere. There is no one and no creation who is immune from war and who is not always in the midst of war. War began in the heavens and we are smack dab in it, participating on one side or the other.

Mothers don't have children. Mothers give birth to soldiers.
Mother Frances Cress-Welsing reminded us of this.

Every person you meet falls into only two categories.
1. A soldier on one spiritual side.
2. A soldier on the other spiritual side.

Focusing on who is a friend and who is an enemy will cause us to be distracted fighting battles...while the war rages on.

War is not personal, it is Universal.
In the Universal lies the beginning and end of war.
Micro wars have friends and enemies. Macro war only has soldiers.
Soldiers don't give a damn if you like them. They only care if you are fighting the same enemy and not doing things to prevent others from fighting the same enemy.

Friendship is for times of peace, when we can actually relax and not be attacked in no way, shape, form or fashion.
Friendship is inappropriate while soldiers from the other side are in our midst acting like they are bullet-proof, teflon-coated, not guilty and unstoppable.

If you insist on using friendship as a main criteria, you will misidentify soldiers. All it takes is one misidentification to put an end to the tour of duty of a life you could have saved. Judgment day is everyday. Judgment day is not just about you and not about “biblical sins.”

For those who are still in love with friendship:
During times of peace, when there are no soldiers from the other side in our midst, everyone is a friend. Friendship is the reward, the payoff, for being a soldier.

Fulfilled Yet? Are Men Necessary? Masculine & Feminine Energy

Food Fight #52

“Are men necessary?” This question is still being asked. The short answer is no and yes.

No, Men Are Not Necessary

Only nutrition is necessary to live as intended.

Yes, Fulfillment Requires Masculine & Feminine Energy

In addition to the male necessity for procreation, there is another primary reason men are necessary. Masculine/feminine energy is a Supreme principle, earthly principle and cellular principle. In these three areas, both masculine and feminine energies are necessary for balance, harmony and just relationships. For females and males, balancing force/energy can come from a parent, caregiver, sibling, relative, friend, ancestor or deity.

Romantic Relationships

I suspect asking whether or not men are necessary has more to do with romantic relationships, love, happiness and satisfaction than it has to do with anything else. These perspectives should help us move towards fulfillment.

Unconditional Love & Friendship - Telling The Truth And Avoiding The Error of Omission

Most of us will encounter that moment when we become aware of something our friend doesn't know but should know. Sometimes this information is not pleasant. Suddenly, telling the truth becomes complicated. We hem and haw past unconditional love and usually end up making the error of omission by deciding not to tell our friend the truth. Instead we decide it's a good idea to tell someone else whose business it isn't which always only makes things worse.

Once we decide not to tell the truth we offer poor excuses as good reasons. We believe the other person doesn't want to hear the information or will be upset with us. We superimpose our thoughts and emotions onto the friend. The problem with this broken logic is none of it changes the truth or forms the basis for friendship.

In these instances, emotion influences reason and reason ignores wisdom. The only thing worse than mind-centered living is emotion-centered living. When we choose not to tell, we do friends, ourselves and the truth a disservice. We participate in deception because we must pretend not to know what we know.

The decision to tell a friend the truth is no different than telling a friend how we feel about anything or what we want or what we don't want. Each of these decisions involve the truth, feelings and possible reactions.

Friendship without honest open communication doesn't exist. Sooner or later the truth emerges and the friend always asks or wonders who knew, for how long, why didn't somebody say something or at least send an anonymous letter? At this point, we finally realize, uncertain unpleasantness involved with telling the truth is much easier to deal with than the certain unpleasantness and betrayal associated with not telling the truth.

The real decision comes down to doing the right thing or doing the fright thing. Telling and truth are certainties, feeling and reaction are not. Unless a friend has told us they prefer not to know the truth, then we must tell it without delay, avoid the error of omission and thus avoid making things worse.

When something needs to be said it comes down to the friend's right to know and being a friend. It's in the contract. How a friend feels about the truth is never in our control and not our responsibility; however, it is in our control and responsibility to say what needs to be said. Finding courage never loses friendship. Telling a friend the truth and avoiding the error of omission form the foundation of unconditional love.

Life Is Larger – Poem Against The Death Penalty

Life Is Larger by Usiku

Largeness in the smallest space
Again dismissed with aggressive taste
An inherent right frequently forgotten
Life is larger than those who take
Obviously not to law and order
Gladly trampled by court-led disgrace
And vengeful logic accepted smarter
Life is refused basic consideration
Overruling supreme creation
Legal murder is not civilized payback
Even if eye for eye covered other acts
Life is larger as more spirits awaken
To correct all that is mistaken
And recenter smallness with origins
Meanwhile Marvin Wilson joined friends

Socialism Is Really Being Social

Socialism scares a lot of people. I'm not sure why. What is the meaning of socialism?
Socialism is social + ism. It is the act, state or condition of being social.
Social means friendliness, united and living with others.
Friend(liness) means to love and to favor.

Based on these three definitions, if we are truly the social creatures we say we are, whenever we are being social, we are showing love and favor for others. This is a principle of most religions. Still, many who follow a religion are scared of socialism. Has religion simply become a bathrobe for private use to cover the naked truth but never to be worn in public?

More Definitions

Common means belonging to all, public and shared by all or many. The word “common” forms the basis for many words such as “community,” “commune,” “communion,” and “communication.” The concept of “common” is also the foundation for the words “friend,” “companion,” “partner” and “fellowship.” Without a doubt, there can be no common ground or common good without these definitions in daily use. We already move through life seeking those with common interests and someone we have a lot in common with to share everything with. All that's left is to back up and pay attention to the common existence we have with everyone.

Semi-Sweet Pieces of Socialism

What is socialism really but sharing resources, helping others and fair treatment? Socialism is love thy neighbor as thyself. It is the primary lesson in the story of feeding the multitude with fish & loaves. Today we have certain aspects of socialism such as social programs, volunteering, donating to charity, lending a hand, helping animals, insects, plants and the planet. Despite some benefit, these are pieces of socialism and nothing close to really being social. In fact, the need for many of these pieces are caused by the inner workings of greed/capitalism, which is the main force against sharing/socialism.

Not realizing that anything other than socialism is incompatible with peace and human progress, will keep us spinning wheels that are out of round. Many people with good intentions will continue to run around trying to ease or fix social problems by putting fingers in dikes instead of removing the dike. Also, time, talent and tithes given to religious organizations are supposed to be social currency. According to religious principle, resources of religious groups are supposed to be for the furtherance of religious principles, thus social purposes.

To be scared of socialism is to be scared of sharing, helping and fairness. To be scared of socialism is to be comfortable with greed, suffering and injustice.

Socialism is the Supreme vision for the universe. Socialism is the principle of ecosystems and there is plenty of evidence to expose capitalism as an antagonistic ideology. Socialism seeks harmony.

In sound, sensible, sustainable societies, people treat each other as friends. Commonality is the bonding agent and love is the active ingredient. There is recognition of a shared existence with all things and that, what is common to support existence, belongs to all.

The next time we're being social, are we really?

Friend or Foe or Shoeless Joe

This is a good article for combining perspective and reality, 30 Reasons Why You Should Be Really Nervous About The State Of The U.S. Economy by Michael Snyder.

What we have is classic self-fulfilling prophecy coming home to roost. America, from jump, has operated from a single core principle/fallacy. We can do anything, anytime, anywhere and use deception and wars (of all types both foreign and domestic) to fix it/hide it/cover it up/deny it. In other words, this is the fallacy many parents warn their immature teenage children about. "You're not going to live forever so quit behaving like you can act now and consider the consequences later and then dodge them." America suffers from the selfish dementia known as Daffy Duck Syndrome: The world is mine, mine, all mine.

America, by way of Europe, is the quintessential pathological liar and needs help. It's coming in the form of forced rehabilitation by the emerging, converging and surging markets led by China. (Fasten your seatbelts for a different kind of turbulence other than the one you've become accustomed to. Americans will have to re-balance their common and normal-seeming off balance understanding.)

If America was a person, it would be a poor choice for a friend.

The linked article above does not take into account basic problems that says everything about the nature of America. Despite being the mis-conceptualized but properly idealized "land of opportunity" it does not adequately provide such for its children and elders. Not good. There is much to be said here, but by simply looking at public education and services and assurances afforded to its senior citizens you can tell that America is not a good parent or a good Uncle or a good person despite how many of its patriots obligatorily parrot the phrase, "America is a great nation."

Sadly, many will still continue to be offended by the truth and want to hear something different and ask, "Say it ain't so, Shoeless Joe."

Ways To Avoid A Good Samaritan

When A Friend Is In Need

Adapted from a comment on Holiday Half-Stepping

I was talking to a friend I hadn't spoken to in awhile. He lost his job earlier this year and his life appears to be in shambles. He hustles constantly trying everything he knows just to make enough money to keep him and his daughter afloat. He said he gets depressed a lot, feeling his world has let him down and he has to fight to stay strong on a daily basis just to keep from ending it all. I guess there are a series of reasons why he's where he is, at this point in his life. His opinion is that a half step is better than no step at all. He feels he would be "set" if he had half of the things men his age acquire (he's 48).

The main thing here is this person's state of spirit and mind. If I were you I'd stay in frequent contact, no less than once per week, and provide positive energy to help him refocus to find that feeling of control, his centering point, his source of strength, his love for himself and his daughter, his purpose for being here and his spirit-given talents not his dollar-driven talents (what the spirit gives and what we allow to be revealed is not necessarily the same as things we're good at, have learned to do or matches the skills and abilities on our resume').

All it takes is one person to help someone. Continue to provide positive information to feed his mind and spirit. Try Job Lost? Don't Lose Spirituality.

Also, if you know anyone else who knows him, get them involved in doing real things to help him regain control such as money (if he refuses your offers tell him it's an investment of belief or a long term loan or ask if he'd do the same for you). Other ways to help are a gas card, helping with his daughter, job leads, resume' and letter writing and editing, life planning (short and long term), budgeting, etc.

If unsure what to do after listening closely, ask directly how you can help, what concerns him most and what is creating the most difficulty. Ask, be silent, wait for responses.

Being there in person can go a long way. Whenever you talk to him be sure to allow plenty of time so it doesn't feel like a drive-by discussion or a routine checkup and then you're off to live your life until the next time. Before talking to him, allow 15 minutes of silent and still transition time to start focusing on this person. By just meditating on him, the entirety of your knowledge and experience with this person can provide insight on words to say and ways to help. Have a conversation.

Lastly, relate personal stories of trying moments you've experienced or are aware of.

It will make a difference.

Their need becomes yours, their emergency becomes your priority. You take their pain personally. Nature: Friends Like Gardens

Autumn is not herself. She has allowed Winter to change her. She is surprisingly different.

She doesn't understand how much I need her to be the person who understands her role in the garden.

For now I focus on the harvest of a few friends like cabbage, broccoli, carrots and the soil. I am keenly focused on the fullness of homegrown grapes that will accumulate again especially if I contribute understanding and care again. This year the newborn vines gave what they could of themselves. Next year, they will bear the fruit they live for. It will be their first time. It will be their time nonetheless.

Consider the thoughts of Alice Walker from “In Search of our Mother's Gardens:”
“Please remember, especially in these times of group-think and right-on chorus, that no person is your friend (or kin) who demands your silence, or denies your right to grow and be perceived as fully blossomed as you were intended. Or who belittles in any fashion the gifts you labour so to bring into the world.”

Though I question Autumn, I mainly question myself. Are my friends like gardens or are they like Winter?
