Savior #1 – Othniel
(CJB), “But when the people of Isra’el cried out to Adonai, Adonai raised up a savior for the people of Isra’el; and he rescued them...The spirit of Adonai came upon him, and he judged Isra’el. Then he went out to war...”
“ And when the children of Israel cried unto the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them...
And the Spirit of the Lord came upon him, and he judged Israel, and went out to war...” (Judges 3:9-10) Savior means being judged and then going to war.
Savior #2 – Ehud
(CJB), “But when the people of Isra’el cried out to Adonai, Adonai raised up for them a savior, ...”“ But when the children of Israel cried unto the Lord, the Lord raised them up a deliverer,...” (Judges 3:15) Ehud kills the King of Moab and leads the army against the Moabites and defeats them. Savior means a person who takes the lead in the fight and leads the army to war.
Savior #3 – Shamgar
(CJB), “31 After Ehud came Shamgar...who killed 600 P’lishtim...and he too rescued Isra’el.”“And after him was Shamgar...which slew of the Philistines six hundred...and he also delivered Israel.”(Judges 3:31) Savior means fighting the enemy with whatever you have available.
Savior #4 – Unknown
God saves: “And Jehoahaz besought the Lord...(And the Lord gave Israel a saviour, so that they went out from under the hand of the Syrians...” (2 Kings 13:4-5) Perhaps not: “But Hazael king of Syria oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz.” (2 Kings 13:22)Savior means once saved not always saved.
Savior #5 – Countenance Of My Health
(CJB),”...Hope in God, since I will praise him again for being my Savior and God.””...hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.” (Psalm 42:12) Savior means spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically which are all part of a person's countenance.
Savior #6 – Moses
(CJB), “It will be a sign and witness to Adonai-Tzva’ot in the land of Egypt; so that when they cry out to Adonai for help because of the oppressors, he will send them a savior to defend and rescue them” (Isaiah 19:20) Savior means helping become free in whatever way freedom is needed.Savior #7 – The Victorious
(CJB), “Then the victorious will ascend Mount Tziyon to rule over Mount ‘Esav, but the kingship will belong to Adonai.””And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the Lord's.” (Obadiah 1:21) Savior means those have just won physical wars.
Saviors #8+ – Multiple & Numerous
“Therefore thou deliveredst them into the hand of their enemies, who vexed them: and in the time of their trouble, when they cried unto thee, thou heardest them from heaven; and according to thy manifold mercies thou gavest them saviours, who saved them out of the hand of their enemies.” (Nehemiah 9:27) Savior means a judge and a warrior in a physical war. It also means a deliverer of information to help us become better people or more appropriately put, to become better aligned with the motions of the Most High. Saviors, salvation and deliverance does not mean being saved from “sin” but being taught, encouraged and supported to improve behavior and situation. Saviors, salvation and deliverance does not mean getting to go someplace else to a better place to get relief from this place. The original and most frequent meaning of savior is to save a person while they are on earth and alive in physical form from their enemies and from themselves in terms of behavior.
