Contrary to the way we humans currently think, all other animals do not have more instincts than us.
Instincts are natural reactions and responses acquired through birth genetics or educated into our genetics or trained into our genetics.Instincts acquired through birth are the result of things learned by parents and earlier ancestors that are recorded in each generation's genetics and passed on through egg and sperm of parents. Once you are born, these instincts continue to be passed on through village interaction education and/or training.
Instincts are behaviors, thoughts, logic, ways of knowing, ways of doing, ways of going, ways of showing, way of becoming.
Instincts are involuntary and voluntary and help us be distinct and succinct with choices by helping us distinguish and discern what is what, who is who, when is when, how is how. We can see the relationship between the spellings of word instinct, word distinct, word distinguish.
Involuntary instincts seem natural, because they are because we are so used to using them, they are connected through direct nerve pathways that allow that knowledge (instincts) to be retrievable at a moment's notice in an instant. Does not word instant match word instinct?
Involuntary instincts (natural instincts) are a part of the immune system that says to itself, I already know what to do, no need to wait for the central brain to tell me. This is why the immune response knows to cause your body to pull away from something that is very hot. That pull back, jerk your hand away response has become a natural involuntary instinct.
Then there's the voluntary instincts that are also natural, that we have a little more time to think about and decide to do or not do. Should I go after the elephant or the antelope? Should I try to swim across or find another way across?
Instincts are manifesting all day long in every specie from beginstincts to instincts.
The most natural of instincts are related to the pursuit of basic needs which includes the desire to learn and fully unfold, unpack, unzip abilities in relation to all else going on by other creations. This context is an overall instinct that has to be learned and evolved and educated into each other. This helps us understand that although our first group of instincts are in our genetics, those instincts are soft-wired. This means our instincts must be used, nurtured, grown, updated in order to continue to be effective according to the times and conditions.
There are two reasons we think other animals have more instincts.
First of all, if you don't use them you lose them. This we know when other animals are held in unnatural environments such as in zoos and as pets.
Secondly, our natural instincts have been replaced with unnatural instincts. These are things humans like us do that are out of sync with natural environment instincts.
In other words, other animals have more natural instincts and fewer unnatural instincts. Humans are just the opposite. This is is why other animals have difficultly living in human environments and dealing with human creations. This is also why humans, without human creations, have difficulty living in natural environments and dealing with natural creations.
In other words, other animals have a healthier mix of instincts than humans such as us.

Instincts are inherited (transmitted, passed on as hand-me-downs) from every physical birthplace, every emotional birthplace, every mental birthplace, every spiritual-soulful birthplace. Birthplaces are places that feed you something.This means anywhere, anyplace and anyway you learn something or encounter any piece of information, is a birthplace. This includes all institutions in your society, all aspects of your cult culture.
Yes your instincts are also updated by your personal experiences. This is no different than any other individual of any specie. Personal experience does not primarily mean you learned it on your own in isolation or by yourself. Personal experience means the experience is filtered through you. In other words, most of your personal experiences are the experiences of others, including earth, sun, water, air and any other creation.
Your instincts become instanks when they are misaligned, mis-paired, unequally yoked.Your instincts stink because what you put into your body, mind, emotions and spirit-soul is improper, thus when your entire self, using those inputs, tries to function in accordance with the world around you, the responses are not what they need to be for the betterment of self. Even though those responses can be exactly in tune with what you have been trained to do.
Your instincts are affected by what you eat in your spirit, soul, emotions, mind and body.
Thus what you excrete, what you put out, what you express, what you manifest, what you create, what you do, is the result of your entire group of instincts you are using, but are simply calling them thinking, thoughts, deciding, behavior, what you do for a living.
