Anyone who has seen the movie “US” by Jordan Peele, knows the movie is so intricately woven with symbolism, it's a tall task to catch everything, even after multiple viewings.
1. Since this story can only be properly understood through Adelaide, one of the most important contexts to grasp is the five Adelaides (stages, transformations, manifestations).
a) Daughter Adelaide at the carnival, clothed in white and yellow Hands Across America shirt, then black thriller shirt that covers everything. This is the original first Adelaide.
b) Shadow Daughter Adelaide after the first House of Mirrors encounter. Once Adelaide left the House Of Mirrors, her shadow had traded places with her. Shadow Daughter Adelaide must now learn to move, talk and behave in the world above. This is why at first she is quiet and has a different expression until she makes the adjustment(s), becomes acclimated.
c) Shadow Mother Adelaide clothed in white. This is the main character.
d) Mother Adelaide clothed in red. This is the adult version of the original first Adelaide who was “taken” in the House of Mirrors and had to grow up in the world below, hell.
e) Shadow Mother Adelaide after the final battle with herself in the underworld of the House of Mirrors (HOM, home, tome, wome). Shadow Adelaide prevails.
2. Husband – Gabe
Children – Zora and Jason are slightly more connected to their shadows because their mother is a shadow. Thus the Mother is giving birth to a new generation of connected children (see Indigo, Crystal, Diamond, Rainbow)
3. The second concept to grasp is that this movie is about duality. Call it what you want, doubles, doppelgangers, twins, pairs, two truths, mirror images, twin powers and so on.
a) Duality plays itself out in two places. The house of mirrors is the connecting transition point between worlds and dimensions which all consist of nothing but mirror image metaphors of One who became Many who are reflections of the One and each other.
4. At the carnival, Daughter Adelaide chose number 11 which is one and one or two. The prize is a Michael Jackson Thriller t-shirt. Thriller shows Michael in dual characters, along with others as creatures from the world below, the grave, the underworld. The girl Michael is with doesn't seem to recognize herself and Michael in the movie as a mirror, but Michael does. A second time the girl sees Michael transform along with others from the grave, yet, once again, she doesn't believe it's real. Adelaide chose duality and its Thriller-type transformation. She literally “walked into it”... was drawn into it as part of her unalterable path.
a) “US” takes the Thriller theme and shows each person their dual self whom they must confront or be confronted by.
b) Thriller takes place at Midnight (Winter Solstice), while “US” takes place at Dawn (Vernal Equinox, Easter resurrection, the twinlight twilight zone).
c) US also ties into the Matrix movie and the Ariana Grande song “God is a Woman,” plus all other connections already noticed regarding Aquaria, the two truths and synonyms. (Ezekiel 25:17)
d) Number 11 and duality is also shown through Jeremiah 11:11 (KJV): Therefore thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them. God shows she/he is the main one to call on in all times, not just 911 and not dependent on other governmental or societal institutions to guide, warn or save us. Jeremiah is a form of Makher and Makheru.
From the first time Shadow Mother Adelaide calls 911, the police never come and later are putting calls on hold per Gabe. This is telling us when the mass untethering takes place, the world will be so overwhelmed, the government and none of their experts you trust, won't be able to help you because they can't save themselves because they couldn't help helping themselves to heaps of lies so they could be “king of the hill” of lies.
e) When Shadow Mother Adelaide sees 11:11 on the clock, she knows this means it's time, again. It's time for metaphors who met before in a metaphysical form to meet again in physical form. She tells Gabe she wants to leave because she doesn't want Adelaide to catch up to her.
We can further understand Shadow Mother Adelaide's behavior when after she, Gabe, Zora and Jason kill the Shadows of their friends and are in their house, Shadow Mother Adelaide wants to run. She earlier lied to Gabe and said, as a child, she ran out of the House of Mirrors, but truth is, she walked out because she was the Shadow.
Zora's interest in running is likely a genetic hand-me-down of Shadow Mother Adelaide who has been running from who she really is. This is why she was keen and clued into coincidences (co-incidents).
5. Number 2: Ambulance #2 that picks up the man carrying the Jeremiah 11:11 sign, is the same ambulance Gabe and Zora take refuge in and wait for Shadow Adelaide and Shadow Jason to join them.
6. More Numbers and Numerology (study of numbers). The cops are 14 minutes away. Adelaide says she peaked at 14. I suspect Adelaide was 7 when she was taken and then Shadow Adelaide lived 7 years expressing herself as a dancer, not only because the doctor suggested it, but because she was now free to experience movement in the world above. 14 could also represent twice around the circle for the seven elemental souls of life that makes them lords of eternity.
7. Hands Across America shows the connection of everyone, everything and every dimension.
a) America is a proxy for many things specific to the USA and much more diverse and greater than the USA.
b) "Hand" is a metaphor for the collective as duality, five and many. The hand is a collective of five fingers. The hand, as we all well know, shows us the individual parts and the collective can never be separate and function properly.
One name of the oldest genitrix, the Kaf-nosed hippopotamus, is Tept. Tept is the tongue, and she was depicted with her tongue lolling out as a symbol of utterance. Tept modifies into Tet (Tat, Taht, Tep), for the tongue (mouth, taste, breathe) and the human hand, and the later equivalent for Kaf; the hand, to take, to utter language. Taht as breath is another connection to Shu as wind, Kafi, Kep and Kepheus.
Taht, the god of speech, using the mouth and tongue as primary in the world above and uses the hand as primary in the world below. “Hand-conversation” and gesture-language is primary, along with clicking sounds of the Kaf ape which leads to Kafi which leads to Shu Kepheus.
The Mother was first; Darkness was first; Water was first; the Left Hand was first. The Left, inner or female hand, is the first that was used in reckoning the number five which the female did by counting the duration of menstrual flow.
“I Got Five On It”. Un represents opening and is the five-pointed star which represents the hour hand and the five, 12-minute parts of the circle as the measure of one hour. Seb is number five, The five-headed serpent represents the five day's menstrual flow.
At one point, Zora and Jason do a fist bump like Wonder twins.
Additional for Initiates seeking to become Adepts. Five 12 minute parts of an hour could indicate there are 5 Great Year Cycles that form a period of 129,600 years, times two is 259,200 divided by 360 is 720. This indicates 720 is one degree in a cycle consisting of 10 Great Year cycles. This must be a galactic cycle.
8. Adelaide relents and agrees to going to Santa Cruz beach as long as they leave before dark because that's when the transition takes place between dualities and worlds.
a) Shadow Mother Adelaide was frightened when Jason went off by himself at Santa Cruz beach because that's similar to how she, took Adelaide's place, by being somewhere her parent's didn't know she was so they couldn't protect her as Shadow Mother Adelaide promises Jason she will.
b) The picture Jason drew that Shadow Mother Adelaide saw in his room contained Jason and Adelaide. It was a foreshadowing of the coming (returning) of Adelaide to try to regain her place.
9. Shadow Jason is the son at the end of the movie in the ambulance as they are leaving Santa Cruz. His expression and silence shows he has not yet made the adjustments.
a) This tells us that Shadow Jason did not die in the fire because when Adelaide snatches Jason at the beach, this also snatched Shadow Jason out of the fire. We must infer that Shadow Jason kills Jason and takes his place. This is not shown just as Adelaide's taking was not shown or fully known until the end of the movie.
We are given an overall foreshadowing of Jason's death when we realize both he and his shadow loved fire. Jason's fire was via a lighter that was losing its ability to ignite. Shadow Jason's fire came via red and white matches. The other part of the foreshadowing was Jason's love for wearing a mask and the type of mask it was.
I repeat, we must infer Shadow Jason actually physically killed Jason because Shadow Jason was about to light Jason's anus up by blowing up the car. Shadow Jason was not simply a playful harmless innocent. Even Jason tried to kill Shadow Jason in the fire. There was no love fest of a kindred spirit between Jason and Shadow Jason. Each half wanted to live in the world above at the expense of the other.
Jason was not simply switched and left in the underworld. The entire underworld was emptied and Adelaide and her shadow were the last two contenders. What sense does it make for Jason to be the only one left in the underworld and not killed?
b) Although Shadow Jason has not yet made the adjustments, this is in contrast to Jason, who, while in the closet with his shadow, begins to understand how his shadow mimics his movements. This is why and how Jason controls his shadow when the shadow threatens to set the car on fire with Jason, Zora and Gabe in it. Jason is also able to read the mind or think like his shadow self.
c) There is a connection between Jason's red werewolf mask and the red wing mask of Jason of “Friday the 13th“ movie fame. We know red bull gives you wings as explained elsewhere. The white mask of Shadow Jason is the sign of the rising son (sun).
10. Everything is tethered and also cut into pieces (dimension-ated), yet connected by many types of chains such as genetics, hand to hand, handcuffs and more.
a) Scissors are a double-edged sword and knife used to bring about the untethering. Scissors, as a killing tool, are a crude, more painful way to separate conjoined twins because one part of self must die when permanent or long-term separation occurs. Both Adelaide and Shadow Mother Adelaide and many other humans make this mistake and think killing the other self prevents it from coming back.
Scissors are also a connection to the movie, “Edward Scissorhands,” another incomplete human being.
b) The untethering is the separating of the two truths (twin power relationship) to allow the last to become first. This is portrayed as a battle, as always between heir apparents.
c) A battle only occurs when the outgoing heir refuses to leave.
d) The transition returns full circle to the same beach and house of mirrors where all the souls are shown in a chain, like paper dolls and like protein chains coming out of ribosomes. The soul train. Almost all shadows have succeeded in killing the other self. The main battle is over when Shadow Mother Adelaide prevails against her other self.
e) When Shadow Mother Adelaide (in white) kills Adelaide (in red), Shadow Mother Adelaide feels both hers and Adelaide's pain, sadness and grief of them not being able to be together in a more perfect union. Shadow Mother Adelaide cries out in both voices, then she laughs because she is who she is, and now the transition deception is complete along with the greater trading of places between those on top and those on bottom. Everything will go on like before, she tells Jason. She tells this lie because she knows Shadow Jason is not ready to understand. She realizes her son is Shadow Jason when she recognizes his expressionless face and he says he doesn't understand. f) Some untethering takes place before and after the mass untethering.
g) Despite the mass changeover and untethering, some of the old truths will remain so they can continue to manifest the outgoing status quo, thus some shadows will not replace those above.
h) During suboptimal times, many of those above fail to fulfill optimal destinypurposes because of the human awareness disconnect between the above and below and other truths.
11. Rabbit food. The rabbit that doubles round represents the two circles, two cycles, birth and rebirth. Rabbit is the mother teacher and food of the gods because the mother nourishes using her body. Rabbit comes before rabbi, the father teacher.
a) Rabbit also signifies the opening period (cycle, time, season). The opening period is that of pubescence. The opening is lawful and unprohibited just as in the movie, “the Purge.”
b) Ptah is the deity and also represents, closing and number nine.
c) Rabbit is messiah emerging from the rabbit hole. The underground is the underworld as tomb, womb and cocoon, the resurrection in transition and the life in transition, coming out of one rabbit hole and into another.
12. Color Red. Those who worshiped the ever-coming one as Atum became known as the Adamites, Edomites and red men.
a) Atum was called a red man because he was born of motherblood and because
b) the metaphor for Atum, is the red sun of night, the red bull who mirrors the black dark lunation and transforms into the white light lunation that feeds the rising sun, the white, yellow or golden sun. Thus the red or black clothed becomes the yellow, white or golden clothed.
The ambulance they leave in at the end is red and white which shows the continuing connection between dualities and shows that now the Wilson family contains two Shadows in the front and two originals in the back. This also goes along with Shadow Mother Adelaide telling Gabe, “you no longer get to make the decisions.”
Shadow Mother Adelaide and Shadow Jason in the ambulance are Aquaria and Kepheus, while the father and daughter are Wepwawet and Pisces.
Now it makes sense why Shadow Mother Adelaide's expression was one of concern when Shadow Jason was being burned in the fire. She knew Shadow Jason was supposed to prevail, take over the body and control the soul.
c) There are red forms of water, wind, earth and fire.
d) Red and fire are symbols for many things such as, the Age of the Jackal, Elder Horus, the announcer for the rising Christ, Age of Kepheus, Lake of Fire, Lake of Hesmen, Pool of Pant, Pool of Fire, Red Lake, Pool of the damned, fiery pit of the “recess,” Pool of Putrata, Lake of Darkness, Celestial Red Sea and Lake of Primordial Matter.
e) Spirit-soul of life is a red spark of fire and light born out of dark matter, dark energy and darkness.
f) Both Ursa Major and Ursa Minor constellations were called the Red Hippopotamus Constellation. Jackal, the red constellation is becoming Kepheus, the white constellation at the celestial pole.
g) The Woman In Red is the Woman In Chains as sung by Tears For Fears. Of course tears and fears are prominent in the movie. Kepheus as Ma-Shu is the “Great White Hope” thus another form of Adelaide and Jason in white. This Woman in White “trades her soul as skin and bones.” “It's a world gone crazy keeps a woman in chains.” The Woman In Chains is the combined Woman in Red and Woman in White.
13. When Gabe asks, “What are you people?” Adelaide says, “Americans.” American must be understood in two ways: (1) its limited sense as “the USA and (2) its broader sense as all humans. When Adelaide says we are “Americans” she was not just talking about herself and her other three family members. She was talking about everyone from the world below. She also later said we are humans just like you. Thus, as explained elsewhere, the word “American” applies to all humans.
14. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9VNCGbK6m8 (3:40) When Shadow Mother Adelaide asks, “What do you want?” Adelaide says “we want to take our time. We've been waiting for this day for so long. I call it, the untethering.” This is why Adelaide is the only one from the world below who can talk. She is the Makheru, the True Voice. She is the firstfruit. 1 Corinthians 15:20 (KJV) “But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.” Adelaide is the one from above who was sacrificed to enter the grave and free souls for the New Age, yet she herself is the Christ whose time in flesh on Earth above has passed.
15. It is extremely significant to understand that human knowledge of the grave and souls below and death is used to control humans above. We see this via religion and see this with the coronavirus pandemic being used to scare people to death due to not wanting to die, so people comply like marionette puppets who respond to puppeteer commands.
16. Overall the movie leaves you initially perplexed regarding who to cheer for. After the information marinates, we should eventually come to understand there is only one optimal answer. They both triumphed and the transition was as it needed to be by any means necessary under the set of conditions. Even if unintended by the Peele, this movie is primarily about superhuman souls of life and humans second, even so, as above is the so below, thus climate environmental change is coming to America to establish the new world order as the new normal.
17. Movies like “US” give us opportunities, via entertainment, to reactivate, stimulate and improve critical thinking and analysis so hopefully we will apply that thought process to stories being told to us by our countries, cultures, governments, experts, police, communities, ourselves. However, be not deceived. All movies and all information provides the same opportunity.
18. After completing this analysis, I have viewed a handful of analyses provided by others. Each analysis has degrees of plausibility which differ mainly based on the person's worldview context, level of awareness and developmental level of knowledge of self and all else.
08.29.21 Update
After listening to “John Singleton's Classic Influences” on the PBS “On Story” show, I realize the trailer for “US” focused too much on the secondary appeal of the movie as a scary thriller and did not incorporate enough of deeply developed script and imagery appeal as a thinking person's movie for those who enjoy the critical analysis of a well-woven tale and mystery movie aspects. “US” was even more intriguing than the intriguing “Get Out.” “US” exceeds M. Night Shyamalan's “Signs” and the Stephen King/Lawrence Kasdan “Dreamcatcher” movie, both of which I thought were well crafted. “US” is next level.
