In the current state of the collective human mind in wayward places called societies, there's nothing more indicative of mental illness than schizophrenia, also accurately or not, known by many other names such as crazy, loony, multiple personalities, bipolar, anal, delusional, psycho, psychopath, sociopath, racist, off their rocker and more. The basis of mental health and illness has been much discussed, so now we shine a focused light on a few fundamentals of a schizophrenia diagnosis.
Schizophrenia is a mental-emotional disorder diagnosed primarily based on externally assessed symptoms using external criteria mainly observation based (no internal physical testing). Although schizophrenia is called a mental disorder, these deficits and behaviors are driven primarily by physical malfunctions. As of 2015, there were no approved treatments that specifically targeted the physical impairments causing schizophrenia symptoms. Even so, this has not stopped the medical industry, for decades, from prescribing medications to alter biological functions that have not been tested or known to be contributing to schizophrenia symptoms. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4692466/
Schizophrenia is not a biological diagnosis. It is a psychological diagnosis based on externally-manifested symptoms, not internal physical causes. Thus a non-biological observed symptom is being treated using biological medications without biological testing and confirmation.
Like most primarily medication-based treatment approaches, the compounding of error takes place after the first drug is prescribed and then another drug is prescribed to minimize one or more of the direct negative harmful dangerous effects of the first drug and so on and on and on. The effect on schizophrenia patients is often a continuous partial stupor state with tardive dyskinesia and enhanced hallucinations as a few of the many adverse effects of medications used to “help” patients (enrich doctors, clinics and drug pusher companies).
These fucking people are shooting at targets in the dark for which they don't know the direction, distance or type. And still we swallow and follow because we have been extremely dumbed down, separated from the supreme scientific method of learning, wholeness knowledge of self and all else. So who is crazy?
As of 2017, existing antipsychotic medications were only partially effective in reducing symptoms, with approximately one third of patients experiencing little or no benefit. However, current medication strategies did not effectively treat the cognitive deficits of schizophrenia. With respect to identifying, knowing and understanding the cause(s) of the disorder, schizophrenia remains ‘the big enigma of psychiatry’, presenting many challenges in terms of translating causative factors into effective treatments [those that repair the malfunction without causing other malfunctions (side effects, adverse effects, contraindications]. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5595756/As of 2021, schizophrenia is said to be a complex mental disorder associated with a wide range of biological causes. However, the factor that unites these biological pathways is oxidative stress (OS). However, there is still no definite opinion on whether OS is the primary cause of the disease, or it occurs secondarily under the influence of environmental factors or is caused by long-term use of medications as treatment. Nonetheless, it is generally accepted that OS plays an essential role in the varied causes and symptoms of schizophrenia. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7847339/
As of 2019, schizophrenia was said to be poorly treated with current therapies, yet numerous antipsychotic drugs were available. The response rate to these drugs is lower than desired. They are slow-acting and often produce serious adverse side effects. The physical causes of schizophrenia were still poorly understood. There was and still is a limited understanding of the biological origins of schizophrenia. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6364139/As repeated often elsewhere in terms of general overall health, cellular malfunction and dementia syndrome, the same basic approach to minimizing and curing schizophrenia symptoms, applies, starting with increased nutrition and reduced toxins.
Until nutritional balance is restored, melatonin supplements is one of many less egregious treatments that should be investigated to possibly help with tardive dyskinesia (uncontrollable movements), insomnia, weight gain and high blood pressure.
