”We are so accustomed to base our view of the world and our whole conception of history on the idea of Europe that it is hard for us to realize what the nature of that idea is. Europe is not a natural unity like Australia or Africa; it is the result of a long process of historical evolution and spiritual development. From the geographical point of view Europe is simply the north-western promolgation of Asia, and possesses less physical unity than India or China or Siberia; anthropologically it is a medley of races, and the European type of man represents a social rather than a racial identity. And even in culture the unity of Europe is not of the foundation and starting-point of European history, but the ultimate and unattained goal towards which it has striven for more than a thousand years.”Mr. ben-Jochannan then follows-up with this commentary to his students [us]:
”Although each and every one of you, my students, may disagree with the points raised by Mr. Dawson, I do hope he has given you enough reasons to reconsider the present form of relating everything in the world from a European and European-American perspective; wherein everything or everyone is good or bad, civilized or uncivilized, religious or heathen, using Europe and European-America as the point or points of reference where purity begins. If you are able to bear this fact in mind and act positively on it, maybe there will be some meaningful change in the very near future in the manner of how WORLD HISTORY will be taught to everyone of us. Then, and only then, can the age-old indigenous African saying common among the ancients of the Nile Valley High-Cultures, which states:-”Ancestor ben-Jochannan's “points of reference” ties in to a recent message which states:”AND THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE,” have practical application to mankind (as we know ourselves).
This is true because through the process to know yourself you grow to develop a comprehensive barometer, comprehensive context and comprehensive point of reference. (From, ”Education | Know Yourself To Learn Multiple Subjects” )
