Black people in general have had to achieve despite obstacles whereas white people and their wannabe additional racist groups are able to achieve without obstacles, or at least far fewer.
As a result, when regular circumstances face white people, they think they have paid dues by simply having to work their way up in life, yet even this notion of paying dues is a white road paved with white privileges.
On the other hand, black people have always had to learn how to do more with less and do it twice as fast just in order to get past the front door. All this is to say, that life itself is on-the-job training for sports coaching for black people for those who recognize and answer the calling to do so. In high school, Riley played defensive end in his sophomore year and made the move to quarterback for his junior and senior seasons. He was second string quarterback at Texas Tech as a walk-on. After a year, he became a student assistant to Mike Leach, gradually progressing to graduate assistant and then to receivers coach. Lincoln went on to serve five seasons as offensive coordinator at East Carolina University. He was then hired to be offensive coordinator for the Oklahoma Sooners on January 12, 2015.
