This is being written before listening to the Post Game Press Conference vs Arizona
In the previous 10.28.25 CU Football Press Conference, at Minute 6:08, Coach Prime was asked if he had found out the whys of what happened last week vs Utah. He basically said yes, most definitely.
Now fast forward to the most recent game against Arizona.
Of course the defense has more holes in it than a moth-eaten garment. Enough said.
The obvious “changes” made on offense were:
1. attempting to get the ball to Sincere earlier
2. using Hayden more
3. using TE more
4. reverting to the useless WR screens
5. using the same type of run plays and formations
6. continuing to put Salter in pocket pass situations instead of moving the pocket and having a RB or TE help with protection
7. no screen passes
8. the net effect of the Offense changes is to continue to flail in quicksand, thus sink deeper and faster.
9. relieving QB Salter of his duties, but not the OC/QB Coach, Run Game Coordinator and Pass Game Coordinator.
10. more penalties
11. Essentially the changes made were mostly about the players rather than the coaches.
Prediction
4 wins, 8 lossesSeason Record 3-6
Conference Record 1-5
Now we turn to the 11.01.25 Post Game Press Conference vs Arizona
1. I can appreciate Coach saying it's on him.
2. I cannot appreciate Coach saying don't attack the players or coordinators. Most people are not “attacking”, but rather simply questioning the results and stating the obvious cause, which starts with the coaches and falls mainly on the coaches, but must be connected to player performance, the two parts of the heartbeat. Coaches are supposed to be skilled in their roles and support the head coach. Head coaches shouldn't have to continuously “check behind the ears of their coaches” to make sure they have done everything meticulously. If Deion continues to deflect from and protect his coaches, this ship will sink like the promising Titanic that was the victim of ignoring multiple warning signs and fragmented decision-making by the designers, builders, financiers, promoters, captains and crew. This basic breakdown of breakdowns, is common to all disasters. We are witnessing this in the USA and other societies, while deflection rises and self-correction is not an option.
3. Despite all that goes wrong prior to a disaster, one or two changes could have prevented it or minimized it.
The road to recovering our bearings on the path of our purposes, is uneven, but progresses more than regresses when we proceed powered by truth. Most of us get to go through these steps in private. Deion and Coach Prime are doing it in public spaces because he has been chosen for this higher calling and path as an example to us and to larger collectives of people that need to fess up and fix what's broken. Ashe to the bathing depth of darkness. Ashe to the breaking light of day.
11.30.25 Update
I'm skipping past all that has taken place in the 28 days from 11.01 to 11.29.This message is a note for future reference into the 2026 season.
In a post-game press conference after the final regular season game and loss to Kansas State on 11.29, on ESPN, I saw a snippet where Deion essentially said he was going to reconcile and get this back on course if this was the last thing he did in this life. He said this was the Last Supper. In the same 2am edition of SportsCenter, I like what ESPN's David Lloyd had to say about this. In a rare moment of ESPN sensible and fair commentary, Lloyd succinctly explained Coach Prime's comment by saying, “Last Supper, Crucifixion, Resurrection.” This was efficiently on point.
Much will be taking place with the transfer portal and coaching carousel, but what I'm looking for is Game 1 to tell me all I need to know.
1. I will be pushing, pulling and praying for Deion.
2. I will not intentionally follow all the goings on in the off-season and pre-season unless something just happens to show up on my radar. I've already followed this yellow brick road to nowhere except underachievement, ineptitude, mediocrity, disillusion, disappointment, internal sabotage and external sabotage on the field.
3. I'm not so concerned about who the players will be.
4. Who will be the coaches and analysts?
5. Will the preparation philosophy significantly change for the HC and all coach and analyst positions?
6. Will the coaches figure out how to get the most out of the players the have by preparing them to be in the best positions to succeed?
7. Will better technique be taught at each position?
8. Will they find ways to be innovative? On this note and pet peeve, I wish someone would change how the Oline pass blocks. It seems stupid to me, despite it being the norm in all contact football levels. The physics are way off.
9. Will the coaches make immediate play-by-play adjustments?
10. I will be looking to see if any of the problems noted in all of messages on Colorado are still present, starting from Game 1. Are there any flies, gnats or poquito mosquitoes in the ointment?
11. All the extra stuff that will be said, done and take place from 11.30.25 to Game 1 2026, I really don't care. I'm looking for all proofs to show up in the pudding.
12. Two games will be plenty 'nuf. And if they lose those two games. It will put Colorado, once again on the precipice edge of being too late for another season.
13. Though I will be looking at game day nuts and bolts and if it looks like something that can stay afloat, the main thing is play-by-play design and execution that this thing is functioning like a well-oiled machine, maneuverable, immediately transformable, durable, well-crafted and well-equipped like a tank that's also a speed boat that can seamlessly operate on land and in the air, whether on the offensive or defensive.
14. When it comes to many things going on in this world, in my mind, I often hear the echo of a phrase from a story I heard early in life. “We shall see what we shall see.”
15. Zooming way out, what I know right now is that:
a) Word Colorado is the same as word Clarify first, then word Clarity.
b) Colorado from Huru-Ritu.
◙ Huru is a name of the sun, wardance yell. additional, another, one more. another day, one more round, seed, circle, cycle, ready, willing and waiting to manifest; word as voice crying out and calling forth, god, child, terrific, terrifying, tranquil, due, just, extend, expand, birthplace, first form, polish, perfect, arm for war.
◙ Ritu is word, speech, writing, time, season, epoch, period, appointed times of repetition, menstruation (time to shed, time to release so new things can flow in and fill and refresh the space and the new seeds).
c) Back in 2023 it was said word Colorado from Khiu-Rur-Akhu
16. On 12.01 I was reminded that Last Supper was also when Jesus called out his traitor. I hope Coach Prime calls out all of them. As I commented on What She Said Sports, If Livingston is still there when training camp starts, it's a wrap for the 2026 season, and Robbie Boy is well on his way to his contract bonus and replacing Deion.
