Terp (teru) is the name of a papyrus roll containing the literature, rites and writings of Taht, the lunar scribe of the gods. The Teru of Taht is equivalent to the Torah of Moses. This is because early Hebrew records were written in mdw ntr hieroglyphics because earlier Hebrews were not identity confused. The deep and secret meanings of the Torah were simplified into writings for common use. This reduction is the Targum. (BB2)

Targum (Hebrew), when derived from Chaldee, provides no word origin and yields a meaning of, “translate or interpret from one language into another.”
A more specific meaning is obtained when Targum is derived from Tar-Kem, Tar-Khem, Tarkem, Tarkhem (Egyptian). Tar means to interrogate, question, sift, distill, indicate. Kem is seek, find, uncover, discover, diss the cover.

Targum originally meant what Tar-kem means, “an interpretation of the concealed sense, the dark sayings, allegories, and symbols, of the hidden wisdom, an intermediate between the secret lore and the outside public”. This appropriately expresses the nature of the “coming to know, coming to understand” learning process of questioning, sifting, modifying, rationalizing, and generally tampering with the materials of mythology (the matter of facts of science). Tar-Kem was first understood to mean an interpretation of hidden meanings, then Targum became understood as a translation from one language into another, then Targum became Jargon and understood to mean technical language that only pertains to a specific field of study, then Jargon was simplified for public consumption and called Layman's terms. The portion presented for general consumption and the portion kept from the public that contains fuller explanations and secrets.
In other words, everything the masses are taught about life, existence, self and all else, only bears slight resemblance to truth and the full story kept close to the breast of shepherds.

Thus, if you are not part of the in crowd of knowers of the deeper and secret meanings, you are considered ignorant, even if educated.
