We know the word evolve has related forms such as:
1. involve, to bring in others or add something else
2. revolve, to turn completely around or go completely around

Evolve is to revolve as evolution is to revolution.
Evolution requires processes, stages and the combination of many things that are repeated in cycles.
De-evolution or devolution requires processes, stages and the combination of many things that are repeated in cycles.
Yes these are the same, so what is the difference?

Devolve easily becomes de-solve, dissolve.
Devolve is dekherfe or de-kherf. Kherf (Khepr) means to use a sufficient supply (of riu materials, i.e., raw materials) to form and figure. Like the denser matter that settles at the bottom of the container,Rui are the writhings of those in the muddy mest of the waters (vibrations, snakes, serpents, worms, vibration waves) that become liberated and elevated by motion caused by heat and air that shakes (khekhs) things up. These rui are the first fruits of the womb that form all else.
In other words, to de-evolve is to de-kherf is to break apart, take apart and break the bonds of what evolution puts together.

We now see that to evolve is to construct and assemble, while to devolve is to deconstruct (destruct) and disassemble. Evolve is solution solution; devolve is dissolution solution.
Evolve and Devolve are both necessary to sustain the eternal full circle, full cycle nature of the universal living being. Both evolve and devolve are healthy in their proper season, both are unhealthy when not.

It is necessary for humans to evolve in knowledge of self and all else in order for humans to complement the ecosystem. It is also necessary for humans to devolve in knowledge of self in order for humans to destroy the ecosystem. No other creature on this planet has that kind of propensity. Thus human devolution provides the basis of deconstruction to the ecosystem so the next cycle and circle of Great Year Gods can reconstruct, renovate.

One breakdown of Revolution is re-vol-uti-ion is ru-kar-uti-nui.
Revolution means: Use magic in the circle to emit rekhs (nui-rui, truths, souls of life) from the mouth of source, beginning with waters, heats and winds, while examining, questioning, verifying, deciding in cycles what is wanted and needed to evolve and devolve.
Both devolution and evolution involve revolution.
Both devolution and evolution are solutions and problematic. They both solve problems (challenges, stress, difficulty, resistance) created by each other, thus problems created by self and problems created by all else.

There are at least four stages each, of evolution and de-evolution.
1. Optimal Suboptimal
2. Suboptimal Suboptimal
3. Suboptimal Optimal
4. Optimal Optimal
These occur in various combinations depending on progress made and the set of conditions. Each stage is not required during each revolution. The duration varies and spans revolutions, especially the shorter the revolution, such as a Moon year or Earth year.
The majority of humans are in Stage 1 Devolution of the harmonious and healthy, thus a minority of humans are in Stage 1 Evolution of the harmonious and healthy. An even smaller amount are in Stage 2 and so on.
Earth is in Stage 3 De-evolution of the disharmonious and unhealthy & Evolution of the harmonious and healthy. It's biggest symptom is the unbalanced movement of water and unbalanced distribution and flow of plants and animals.
Our Sun Ecosystem (Solar System) is in Stage 4 Devolution of the disharmonious and unhealthy & Evolution of the harmonious and healthy.

By the way, these four stages can be likened to the four seasons or the two solstices and two equinoxes.
