If you do not understand racism (white supremacy) and how it works, everything else you understand will only confuse you. - Neely Fuller

We need something to clarify everything for us, because we get confused...but if we use the concept of Asili, we will understand that whatever it is they are doing, whatever terms they use, however they come at you, you need to be thinking about what? How is this going to facilitate their power and help them to dominate me? -Marimba Ani

Many Names Of Simon, Kefa, Rock, Cephas, Peter
Unity Consciousness #546

.

Shim`on Kefa is loosely translated as Simon Cephas. The meaning of Kefa and Cephas is “rock.” There is no reasonable basis to show where Peter comes from except that it is a KingJamesglicized preference, concoction and insertion.

Two Explanations How Simon Came To Be Called Rock

1. Simon said, “You are the Mashiach, the Son of the living God.” (Matthew 16) See UC534.
a) Yeshua said “you are Kefa,” [which means ‘Rock,’] “and on this rock I will build my Community, and the gates of Sh’ol will not overcome it.” (Matthew 16:18)

2. Andrew was the one who said, “We’ve found the Mashiach!” (The word means “one who has been anointed.”)” (John 1:41-42)
a) “He took him to Yeshua. Looking at him, Yeshua said, “You are Shim‘on Bar-Yochanan; you will be known as Kefa.” (The name means “rock.”)”

Many Names of Simon, Disciple Apostle #1

H:Shim‘on, becomes Simon
Kefa becomes Rock (meaning), Cephas (loose translation), Peter (KingJamesglicized). This is not even an interpretation, it is just someone's preference for the name Peter). Peter does not mean rock or Kefa or Simon or Shim`on.
K`lofah becomes Cleophas (John 19:25)
Cleopas becomes Cleopas (Luke 24:18)
H;Shim‘on Bar-Yochanan becomes Simon, son of Jonas
H;Shim‘on Bar-Yochanan becomes Simon the son of Jona
H:Shim'on Bar-Yochanan becomes Simon Barjona

The KingJamesglicized name of Peter is much farther off than the loose translations of CJB words into KJV words such as John, Mary, Jesus, Abraham, Rebekah, Elizabeth and Judas.
These names should be Johanan, Miriam, Jeshua, Abram, Ribkah, Elisheba and Judah.

In the Jewish Bible, the books of Peter in the New Testament are called 1 Kefa and 2 Kefa.
In the Christian Bible, the books of Peter in the New Testament should be 1 Cephas and 2 Cephas OR 1 Rock and 2 Rock, but definitely not 1 Peter and 2 Peter.

Simon “Rock” Cephas will not be referred to as Peter or Simon Peter except for cross-reference purposes.
