H:Marta becomes Martha
Marta: Martha, Sister of Eleazar (Lazarus)
Welcomed Jeshua (Jesus) and his disciples into her home. Her sister was Mary. Mary sat at Jeshua's (Jesus') feet and listened to his teachings while Martha was busy working. (Luke 10)
Jeshua (Jesus) loved Martha, Mary and Eleazar (Lazarus). (John 11:5)
When Eleazar (Lazarus), their brother got sick, Martha and Mary sent a message to Jeshua, saying the man you love is sick. Jeshua (Jesus) was only two miles away. (John 11)
Four days after Eleazar (Lazarus) died, Jeshua (Jesus) finally came and Martha went out to meet him outside the village. (John11)
Martha was the one who said to Jeshua (Jesus) if you had been here my brother would not have died. She also said whatever you ask of God, God will give you. She went and got her sister, Mary. At the tomb, Martha said the body must stink by now when Jeshua (Jesus) told them to remove the stone. (John 11).
After Eleazar (Lazarus) was raised from the dead, a dinner was given in honor of Jeshua (Jesus) at the house of Simon, the Pharisee. Martha served the meal. Mary anointed Jeshua's (Jesus') head with oil and his feet with oil, tears and kisses and wiped them with her hair. (John 12) See UC542.
