“Miryam and Aharon began criticizing Moshe on account of the Ethiopian woman he had married, for he had in fact married an Ethiopian woman.” (Numbers 12:1). See UC461 and UC475.
God punished Miriam by turning her white as snow. (Numbers 12). Again, it makes no sense to turn someone white if they were white already. See UC494, UC505.
Aaron was not punished in this manner although he also died before entering the promised land. Miriam died before Aaron. (Numbers 20)
Miriam was a prophet and leader. (Exodus 15; Micah 6)
