If you do not understand racism (white supremacy) and how it works, everything else you understand will only confuse you. - Neely Fuller

We need something to clarify everything for us, because we get confused...but if we use the concept of Asili, we will understand that whatever it is they are doing, whatever terms they use, however they come at you, you need to be thinking about what? How is this going to facilitate their power and help them to dominate me? -Marimba Ani

Confluence of Influences | Ridiculous Individual Accolades & Blame In Team Sports
Unity Consciousness #2683

(9azzzzzzz of 11)

I don't like the Los Angeles Lakers because the white collective of owner Jeannie Bus, Phil Jackson, Kurt Rambis and the GM Rob Pelinka, treated black Magic Johnson like a lesser intelligence and tried to subjugate black Tryron Lue. Even so, due to the influences of the stars above, the Lakers won the championship in 2020. Individually, Lebron is succeeding even as the team has since faltered under the faulty decision making of Lakers management, including their head coach Frank Vogel who was practically handed the championship in his first year but who has reduced the Lakers to less than the sum of their parts.
Likewise, if we are honest, we will recognize that Tom Brady benefited from a system that helped the Patriots win games. Special teams did not lose games and helped him win games. Individual players on special teams, defense and offense helped him win games. Notably are some spectacular catches by wide receivers and tight ends, especially in the playoffs.
At the same time, Patrick Mahomes has been a disappointment in the past two years after winning the Superbowl in 2020. The team has underachieved despite being highly favored, yet Patrick Mahomes is not summarily blamed. Nor is white Andy Reid. At the same time we go to the Miami Dolphins and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa who is being put under scrutiny even as the Dolphins fired head coach Brian Flores and replaced him with Mike McDaniel, who obviously identifies as white, and only as black or biracial or minority when it advantageous. The Dolphins has now set McDaniels up for success by making several key trades, something not done quickly or completely for Flores.
Now the narrative is, if the Dolphins don't win, it's Tua's fault. What about the rest of the system, administration, coaching, offensive coordinator, players, special teams and defense. A quarterback, like any player can only do so much, no matter how talented. Over and over we've seen how other failures on a team can cause a talented player to not achieve the team goal of a championship, or even a good QBR as a quaterback if receivers don't catch the ball or the play calling is suspect.
What has Aaron Rodgers achieved lately. MVP, Yes. Championships since 2011, No.
The list goes on with how unfairly quarterbacks are vaunted as the main reason for team success or failure and how quickly the failures apply to black quarterbacks and how slowly the accolades apply to Black quarterbacks.
What the hell has Ben Rothlesburger achieved since 2008 except losing the Superbowl in 2011, black coach Mike Tomlin has achieved leniency because that's the nature of the Steller's ownership and organization.
Drew Brees was drafted in 2001 and finally won the superbowl in 2010. Now, just as the stars were aligned for the Lakers and the Bucks and Toronto, so also are they aligned for the Miami Dolphins within the next three seasons. Likewise the stars are aligned for the Phoenix Suns, Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat, Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks.

There are many moving parts to a sports team and many factors influencing the outcome of each game, including rules and their administration. Therefore it is nonsensical to attribute any win or loss to a single player or single play or a single coaching decision or a single administrative move or rule/referee decision. A series of consistent favorable factors have to align for the winning team than they do for the losing team.
We seem to claim to understand what it takes for a team to win or lose but not what it takes for an individual to succeed in a team setting.
The sports world, on all levels, is littered with talented individuals who never achieved the expected level of team success.
And lastly, if goofy fans really think they are so important in influencing the outcome of a game, then why do those fans not also take the blame for unfavorable outcomes of games? Did the fans do their job? If so, then there must also be other factors outside of each factor's sphere of influence that contribute in a confluence of influences.
