Despite the murderers being mostly black males, this incident is another example of police doing the job they are hired to do. Treat blacks inhumanely and whites humanely. Treat Blacks as slaves and Whites as good people having a bad moment. Treat Blacks as scum and Whites as chum. The murder of Tyre Nichols is a system-wide systemic act of Maafa Racism.
You can be certain this Scorpion unit has done bad things before and gotten away with it.
You can be certain when you give mental ill people, posing as police offers, further exclusivity by assigning them to a supposedly elite unit, it justifies their sense of superiority.
I don't care how many drugs someone is on, two or more officers should be able to restrain them or hold down their legs. If not, they need better training and some type of rope to wrap around ankles to keep people from fleeing.
Tyre Nichols couldn't have been more than a buck sixty while all the officers were at least 220 pounds.
So nobody had a working taser to use long enough to get handcuffs on Tyre?
Why ask someone to give me your hands and lay down and turn over, instead of one person sitting on his legs, another on his butt and another pressing down on his shoulders and only doing do long enough to put on handcuffs?
Use of pepper spray should be outlawed.
I'm surprised they didn't shoot him because many Blacks have been shot for far less and the criminals in blue had already established all the common statements and shouts and claims to justify using more and more force.
Under no circumstances should sane (honest) people allow this to be painted as something isolated and not systemic.
Under no circumstances should honest (sane) people allow this incident to be painted as something unique. We've seen this many times before. No part of the video was shocking to me despite what the media is saying about the video. Black people are used to seeing this kind of barbarianism.
Why is there no body cam footage that matches the pole camera?
We should continue to not be fooled when police control the body cam, pole cam and car cam footage and even footage from businesses and homes, and then the police tell us we are receiving the full unedited versions. And they they don't want people using their cells phones, but if you don't give it to them, you are withholding evidence.
What is interesting is that there is no evidence of anyone in the neighborhood coming out of their homes. To me, this is the acceptance of subjugation and subservience.
No amount of protests incident by incident is enough to change the fact that the USA is still 100% racist in all its institutions. Nobody cares about daily police violence every day in many cities in the USA, but they are quick to call for “peaceful” protests, instead of being diligent and urgent about all forms of police targeting, mistreatment to brutality. There is no forgiveness for these types of behaviors, not even for the enablers who still want to praise police and EMTs and firefighters instead of treating them no better than any other person. All enablers are just as guilty as person who carries out a racist act that we point to. There are enablers before the fact, during the act and after the attack. Protests won't change things, only direct action against all ten major institutions in the society. Police are thugs, gang members and terrorists as is everyone who participates or looks the other way. Fully weaponized mobs of White people terrorize the Capitol Building and only a few were shot but every protest against harm to Blacks is immediately painted with “please be peaceful.”
No amount of training, firing, imprisonment or anything else on an incident by incident basis will change things until enough people uphold their duty to humanity on a daily basis. This is not the first incidence since George Floyd, an incident where many foolishly think America and the world has changed for the better. Naw!
In all cities, police presence in Black communities is higher and use of cameras and drones, but not in White communities where they live in cesspools of crimes called homes.
Under no circumstances should we mistake for justice any actions taken against anyone who acts inhumanely. The threshold of justice can only be crossed through the complete dismantling of racism and the divesting of all ill-gotten gains along with other punishments, just as is worthy of any other pathogen that sickens. This is only the beginning of justice because justice like health is something that must be sustained daily.
