Civilization, among groups of several thousand or more, has not existed for thousands of years.
Neither has advanced societies existed during the same timeframe.
The only way societies of today can be considered “advanced” is if we are talking about advanced cancers of all types, including the cancer of mental illness.
To their credit these false positive advanced civilization societies are the very best at being suboptimal.
