Sadly, as a manifestation of mental illness and spiritual illness, far too many humans feel threatened by the deserved success and accolades of others. This fear only comes from those with low self-esteem or weakly puffed up self-esteem, that is high but the bubble is easily burst by their own tattered shattered reflection.
Much has been said about self-esteem (Self-estimation). Self-estimation is how we reach self-esteem. Self-estimation is a set of actions, thoughts, logic, thinking and behaviors that lead to a feeling of self-esteem.Self-esteem is one point, one moment in time. Self-estimation is a continuous process of motions, actions, emotions, reactions, spiritual motions, mental motions, emotional motions, physical motions.
This is why one of the first things people do to others when they meet, is ask, what do you do?
In other words, the person is using a round-about way to compare themselves to the other person.
In other words, the person who is asking is trying to make an assessment of one of the aspects of their self-esteem by comparing it to an aspect of someone else. That aspect is their job, their title, their career, their employment status, who they work for, if they are self-employed, they job category, how much money it makes, how praised it is in the society, their awards. Job and work is used because in societies, it is a major component of self-esteem because job and work is how you make money, a major component of self-esteem. This would be fine if our work was connected to our optimal destinypurposes, thus was civilization work rather than work that just kept societies growing more cancerous and tumorous.
Unfortunately, some of what self-estimation is based on:
1. societal worldview and definitions
2. unhealthy knowledge of self
3. unhealthy knowledge of all else.
4. the human curve, especially the recent suboptimal stage of human achievements
