The Rutuli of Italy are older than the word Latin because the rutuli are named after the ruten. Rutuli likely passed down from rut-ari, rutari. Ari becomes uli, thus rut-uli.Other variations are: Ruteni, Rennes, Rouen. The Scotian Fir da Leith, rendered the men of two halves, is from the Egyptian Rut, to be divided, the men who separated from the parent stock. Rut (root) means to be several, repeated.
