When is it true that God helps those who help themselves? Is it when babies are harmed? God didn't help them because they didn't help themselves. God must have helped their attackers who were helping themselves. Thank you God for having somebody's back.
What about the elderly, the ill, the injured? Is God sitting back saying too bad so sad you should have helped yourself? For sure Jah Jah definitely put many angels over me. Pulled me out the clutches of death more than once.
But why me and not Botham Jean and all the others? I've certainly put myself in dangerous situations. Botham was chllin' in his own apartment. How about a little help God?...protection from the white racist police mob? Why didn't God help Trayvon? Trayvon was helping himself by minding his own business and then kicking Zimmeran's person of color ass. Michael Brown was helping himself. Clearly, it's not as simple as God helping those who help themselves.
Why are you still here?
Is it because you helped yourself all the way to this moment?
Has God helped you? Why you and not others? Then I remembered! God has a split-personality. God has multiple personalities, and evidently, there's a big ass human tumorous portion of God's personality, in disorder.
God has a dark side and a light side. Neither side inherently good or evil just opposites. Therefore there must also be a side of God that doesn't help those who help themselves. Both sides of God are always in contention, fighting to rule the moment, the moments of our lives.
Evidently the evil God helped Amber Guyger who helped herself to premeditated murder.
Evidently Botham's God was sleeping on the job.
God did not help Joshua Brown from getting murdered. Joshua was a witness who helped Botham's murderer get convicted. We might want to rethink this whole notion of God helping those who help themselves. If two sides are always in contention, how is it determined which side gets the most help so that they prevail? One thing is certain, it is not determined on an individual basis. Not for Botham, not for Joshua. Not for me. Therefore, since we are still here, what is our purpose as it relates to the collective?
What is it we're supposed to be doing in the moments we have left?
Same ole?
When will the fight between good and evil catch us up in the cross-hairs of its collateral damage?
God please resist the urge of the part of you that wants to keep us confused. Reach into the other side of you. Help the collective at least understand our part of the plan so we can give each other a helping hand to recreate the world that respects the rights of creation.
