If you do not understand racism (white supremacy) and how it works, everything else you understand will only confuse you. - Neely Fuller

We need something to clarify everything for us, because we get confused...but if we use the concept of Asili, we will understand that whatever it is they are doing, whatever terms they use, however they come at you, you need to be thinking about what? How is this going to facilitate their power and help them to dominate me? -Marimba Ani

#ADOS & Other Misguided Ideologies
Unity Consciousness #1824

.

(Part 9yj of 11)

Let me clearly say there are components of all ideologies that are good and useful; however those components must be extracted and applied under another guiding ideology that leads to optimal unity, which is to say Pan-Africanism which is to say the African Utamawazo, optimal theory and the highest form of humanity.

In my clearest moments, when I first encountered the term ADOS. I looked it up and immediately, the ancestors said hell no this is some crazy divisive shit that has albino written all over it.

But I went ahead and tried to entertain some of the ideologies of those promoting this movement. In less than six months into this relationship, there were enough warning signs and red flags to know what is what definitively.

It is encouraging to see that many other Africans recognize and specifically articulate the reasons why #ADOS, #FBA #NBA and others are not the the African-centered way. This is because they are clearly not the united way and not the healthy way and not the optimal way, and are instead, very dangerous ideologies indeed.

The Inappropriateness Of ADOS

It is not helpful to African Diasporan unity to distinguish Blacks in America as native Black Americans. This is akin to the non-helpful ADOS-American Descendants of Slavery moniker. Everyone knows Africans are Black and everyone knows Africans who were already in America and those who were brought to America, built America. It was a mixture of Africans who had long since been in America and those more recently shipped in. The Africans who built America stood on the shoulders of earlier Africans elsewhere and in Africa. Secondly, we are African and Black. Black, of course, includes a range of hues; however it does not include our enemies. The word African says it all. Thirdly Africans worldwide are owed reparations by many countries. America owes Africans in America and Africans elsewhere. I understand the possible necessity of narrowing the reparations pool, but it couldn't possibly be that many more Africans now in America, since perhaps 1865. Even if there is a large number it should not make or break the reparations decision. Also those more recently arrived Africans would be standing in the place of many of our ancestors who no longer have descendants in America or who did not have any children at all. Lastly another elder reminds us that Africans in Africa and worldwide were under siege during the same time Africans were enslaved in America. This siege called the Maafa has never stopped anywhere on planet Earth. Africans were in no position to come save Africans in America. However they love us and we love them. We are equal in origin, in our accomplishments, in our pain and suffering and so also will be in victory. Whatever we achieve we will share it with others according to need.

So I'll say it again, those who espouse these ideologies cannot be our leaders; however, some of them can serve in the background and some of their ideas we must consider.
