Moving Forward Moving Backwards
Phase One

(Part 9ch of 11)

One of the great tragedies of current logic is: “just move on, move forward.” This statement is only appropriate sometimes. Usually, when we try to move forward without moving backwards, whatever we are trying to leave behind, will manifest in our lives in a different form.

If there are times when it's good to move forward, then there are also times when it's good to move backwards.
If it is appropriate to think about the future, it is also appropriate to think about the past and live in the present moment.

Impossible To Just Move Forward

We move forwards and backwards all day every day.
Our body systems function based on moving forwards and backwards, for instance, blood moving forward in arteries and backwards in veins.
From the moment we get out of bed, we move forward to the bathroom then move backwards to the bedroom and then forwards and backwards many times before we even leave the house. And despite all the progressive moving forward we might be doing, we still move backwards to the same bed and do it all over again. We repeat the same basic movements, moving forwards and backwards, even as things are turning and returning. We are doing what all things in motion are doing.

How many times have you walked across the street, then back across the same street in the opposite direction?
Up the block, down the block, up the stairs, down the stairs you go forward and back.

Regardless of our surface awareness, we are now in the stage of the cycle where our deeper self is guiding us towards the resurrecting First Truth. This same deeper self, the essential badness side, has been the culprit in helping lead us astray away from our essential goodness side, but now, since the cycle has reversed, we are being led back on course. In order to get to where we need to go, we must move backwards in optimal fundamental ways, even as we move forward.

Nay I Say, I'm Moving Forward Anyway Without Moving Backwards

Some people will say, okay, yes we move forward and backwards physically all day long, but I like to say “just move on, move forward” because I'm talking about emotionally and mentally.
Let's check that logic.
The logic you are using to “move forward” by, where did it come from?
Unless it came from somewhere forward in the future, then the logic you are using to move forward by, is logic from the past, thus you are moving backwards in logic to retrieve information to move forward with.

Have you moved forward from your gender, your skin color, your religion, your culture, your work identity, traditions, holidays and other suboptimal identifiers of self?
If life is just about “moving on and moving forward” then why keep bringing forward with you, stuff and thinking that you had back there in the past, and even during the times you are now trying to move forward from?

Every use of our genetic potential, that we use to move forward by, requires us to also move backwards.

On a related note: do not put yourself in the equally tragic predicament of thinking you are only “a positive person.”
The necessity of moving backwards exists because of the necessity to move forward.
The necessity of being positive exists because of the necessity to be negative.
There are times when it is appropriate to move forward and be positive and move backwards and be positive and move forward and be negative and move backwards and be negative.
Every self-proclaimed “positive person” also has many things about which they have a negative thought, feeling, opinion. Even if it's only having a negative opinion about somebody else being a negative person.

The point keeps getting repeated: Every aspect of any duality, if it exists, then its counterpart also exists. If one part of a duality exists in you, then its counterpart exists in you, in potential, hidden, in waiting for manifestation. At some point, in some way, both parts of a duality manifests in you.
You move forward and back. You are positive and negative. You are female and male. You love and hate, are happy and sad, cry and laugh, work and play. You are pro-life and pro-death. You are beautiful and ugly, clean and dirty, civilized and uncivilized, cave person and modern person, smart and stupid, greedy and benevolent, kind and malevolent.

The point keeps getting repeated: If you say you are any of these things, if any part of a duality exists in you, in your life, and in your thinking and behavior, then the other parts of that duality also exists in some form somewhere in your continuous life history. This applies to all things, for instance if the universe expands, then it also contracts. Everything is based on the same 8 principles and characteristics which exist as 4 duality pairs.

If you think, you are one thing and not the other, you are lying to yourself, while telling the truth.
You are a criminal, druggie and gang member if you think you are the opposites of those things.
If you obey the law, you also break the law.
If you are free, you are enslaved.

We keep moving backwards to the point in order to keep moving forward: In some way, shape, form, fashion and function, you are all parts of every duality that you think you are only one part of.

If you only move forward without looking back or thinking back or reaching back, then you won't have points of reference whereby to judge whether or not you have made progress.
You also won't understand what kind of progress you've made. Is it good progress or bad progress?

Move backwards, remember, reassemble.

The statement: “just move on, move forward” is usually employed as an avoidance mechanism of painful truth.
We okie doke ourselves into thinking, by moving forward, we are improving, but what we are actually doing is avoiding and delaying self-improvement.

Sooner or later, we must move backwards to keep the cycle going of living/unliving, learning/unlearning, growing/ungrowing, forward/backward, harmony/disharmony, pain/joy, etc.

The point is repeated: For everything we think we need and want, there is also a complementary opposite that we say we don't need or want, yet we, the extended self, do need it, and will one day, remember we want it.
