Thus the insertion brings together kingship and priesthood and places the lineage of the Maccabeus tribe into the Kings of Judah. Under the tribe of Jacob Israel, King Zedekiah appears to be the first combined priest-king after the order of Malki-tzedek (Melchizedek).
